Leorio finished tying his shoes. He hopped up, having also just finished his pre-workout concoction. Kurapika was still in bed.
"Sunshine, we gotta go. We have places to be, so we need to go on the run as soon as we can." Leorio reached over to shake his shoulder.
"Don't touch me." Kurapika's voice was calm. Eerily so. He sounded detached.
Leorio shut his mouth. "Sorry."
He left. He went by himself to the gym across the road and started his workout. He ran on the treadmill while thinking. He lifted weights while stewing. He did ab crunches and brooded.
Fuck Elias. He did this to Kurapika. He will never be normal because of what that shit-eating monster did to him. Drugging him. Abusing him. Oooh if I ever see him again I'll let loose the fattest, most life-destroying, home-wrecking, teeth obliterating punch he will ever live to witness. Because I'll kill him in one swing. That's all it'll take.
A text. He almost ignored it.
Kurapika: sorry. Evrythign is bad.
Leorio: don't worry. Take your time. Tell me if you need anything.
Leorio considered his response.
Leorio: love you tons.

Grocery shopping was finished, the bills were paid, the dishes were cleaned, and Leorio was showered. He was vacuuming the living room when Kurapika texted him again.
Kurapika: can u come here for a sec
Leorio: brt
He stopped the vacuum and made his way upstairs. He knocked softly, and only entered when he got confirmation.
Kurapika was still in bed. It looked like he hadn't moved from that morning.
Kurapika patted the bed next to him, and Leorio sat. He started to brush his fingers through Kurapika's hair, trying to soothe him.
"Sorry." Kurapika whispered.
"You don't have to be sorry." Leorio reassured him. "What can I do to make things better?"
Kurapika thought for a moment. then he snuggled up with his head in Leorio's lap. He pushed his nose into the older man's leg and breathed deeply.
Leorio smiled down at him. Such a cute little thing.
