{same au as "makeup" and "hair" and also "how I met your mother"}
"Um,,, Kurapika, can you teach me?" Killua asked. His face was bright red and he wasn't making eye contact. "Teach me how to do makeup?"
Kurapika was delighted. "Of course, Killua. It's nothing to be embarrassed about, you know."
"I'm not embarrassed!" Killua protested. Then he apologized. "Sorry for yelling. I guess I'm kinda nervous. I don't know how to do it and... I dunno, I might not be good at it. I hate doing things I'm not good at."
"I see. Well, the more you practice, the better you'll be." Kurapika said wisely, leading him to the bathroom.
Killua sat on the closed toilet and Kurapika pulled up a stool. The older man gave the boy a headband to keep the hair out of his face.
"Is there anything specific you want to try? I usually only do eyelashes and lipgloss. Do you have something else in mind?"
"Not really... we can start with the basics."
Kurapika smiled. By "the basics" Killua probably meant whatever Kurapika knew. Which was very little.
So Killua held still while Kurapika opened and applied mascara from a new tube, one that was his to keep. He went slow to help Killua learn. Then he showed Killua what he does with a damp Q-tip.
"You can always just lick your finger and rub it, but sometimes that makes your skin red, or it might smear instead of cleaning it off." Kurapika said, wiping away little flecks of black.
Then he showed Killua how to stretch his lips to make sure he got lipgloss covering everything. Then helped him add a touch of blush per his request. Killua took off the headband and stood next to Kurapika in the mirror. He just stared for a second.
"What do you think, buddy?" Kurapika asked gently.
"It's... not that much different. My eyes look bigger though, and my lips are shiny." Killua looked close in the mirror
"How do you feel?"
Killua took a deep breath with a smile. "Good. I like it. It's exciting. I look,,, pretty." He said the last part quietly. But he still had a small smile.
"Do you want to show the others?" Kurapika offered, gesturing to the door.
Killua bounded out and ran straight for the living room. "Gon!"
"What's up, Killu- Killua?" Gon said his name breathlessly.
Kurapika entered the room to find Killua leaning real close to Gon and chattering excitedly. Gon was blushing, and he hadn't said a word.
"It looks great, pal!" Leorio congratulated him from his seat of the couch. "C'mere and lemme get a good look at ya."
Killua stepped up in front of Leorio, and he was grinning ear to ear.
"Wow, you even used some of Kurapika's blush! I see it on your nose." Leorio pinched his nose.
"Hey, cut it out!" Killua put a hand over his nose protectively.
"What do you say to Kurapika?"
Killua turned to look at the man in question. "Thanks, Kurapika."
"You're welcome, Killua. Don't forget your mascara when you go home tonight."
"I won't." Killua assured him.
Gon still hadn't said anything. He looked starstruck. He was hardly breathing. When Killua looked over at him, he smiled.
"Killua, you look so pretty." He stated.
Now it was Killua's turn to blush. "Okay, okay, everyone stop embarrassing me. But uh, thanks."
Kurapika sat on the armchair of the couch next to his fiancé, who wrapped an arm around his waist. "Killua, do you think you'll want to wear makeup to the wedding?"
Killua and Gon went quiet, then both looked over in shock. "Excuse me?"
"You heard him. A wedding." Leorio smiled and hugged Kurapika a little closer. "We're getting married."
"And we want you two to be the ring bearers, is that okay?" Kurapika asked.
Gon's eyes filled up with tears just as Killua started yelling his congratulations. Killua was practically jumping up and down while Gon was crying because marriage is so beautiful, as he expressed clumsily.
"Of course we will." Killua said. "Have you guys picked out colors yet?"
Kurapika and Leorio both looked at each other with wide eyes, then chuckled. "We hadn't thought of that."
"Download Pinterest right now, we have plans to make." Killua whipped out his phone.
So for the rest of the night the four of them laid on the living room floor and shared Pinterest ideas. Everyone was pretty clueless about the app, but they had Killua to be their expert social media guide.
Yay
