Kurapika curled up on the bed, trying desperately to keep himself warm. The winter cold had moved in, and busted the heater for their apartment. They were relying on a pair of space heaters to keep everything warm. The electricity bill was going to be quite unforgiving this month.

Leorio slipped into bed next to him, immediately enveloping him in his body. They were face to face, clinging onto eachother in the brisk night air.

"Why don't you ever wear socks like I told you?" Leorio scolded.

"I've told you before. I like to feel things with my feet. Socks get in the way."

Leorio slid his hands up and down Kurapika's back. "is this really all the blankets we have?"

"You ask that every night." Kurapika whispered. "Yes. It is. Every last one."

"We'll be okay." Leorio kissed his forehead. "We've been through worse."

Kurapika huffed a laugh. Leorio was referring to the hunter exam, and he was right; they had been through worse. They had to sleep in a pit of snakes, a haunted boat, a jungle filled with bloodthirsty examinees, and the woods with no sleeping packs.

But one thing was always the same: they had each other.

-Vision-

Leorio watched as his husband held their newborn child. It was a little girl. She had thick, dark hair and big blue eyes. She was currently swaddled in a deep blue blanket, one that Kurapika had salvaged and restored from his old village years ago.

Leorio reached out. He wanted to hold his husband. Hold their child. My family. He wanted to hold them close and kiss them a hundred times.

"What's her name?" He asked, voice muddled and warped.

Kurapika smiled and said something, but it was lost.

"I like that name."

Leorio stirred in his sleep, accidentally waking himself up from the dream. He was spread out on their bed, one leg lazily draped over Kurapika. The blanket had fallen off, and the cold air bit at his face and feet.

Leorio scooted closer to his boyfriend, rubbing a hand gently on his cold shoulders. You will be my husband very soon. He spooned Kurapika, then pulled the blankets over both of them snugly.

Under the covers, Leorio slithered his hand over Kurapika's waist and rested on his belly. He held that little pouch in his hand, admiring how healthy and plush his body was. Kurapika was perfect, and his body was perfect for carrying their child.

Leorio kissed the back of his head, then took a deep breath and fell asleep.
