Continuation of last chapter because everyone liked it so much heheh CW: transphobia

Alluka was trembling when she burst through the door. She was breathing hard and her eyes were wide with panic. Kurapika dropped what he was doing and rushed to her side.

"They're. Chasing me." She said between deep breaths.

Kurapika looked out the window to see three tall boys on the sidewalk, eyeing the house. He locked the door and wrapped a protective arm around Alluka.

"It's okay, I'll call someone to take care of it. Can you tell me what happened?"

Alluka bit her lip as her dad lead the way to the kitchen. "They were just being mean. That's all."

Kurapika sat her down at a barstool and started preparing her favorite tea. "People usually don't chase girls home just because they're being mean."

Alluka dropped her head in her arms. "Well, they chase trannys home."

Kurapika stopped. "Is that what they called you?"

Alluka nodded.

"Who was it, I want names."

"No, Dad, it's fine-"

"It's not fine! I will not stand around while someone bullies my daughter!"

Leorio popped in from the bedroom. "Wha' happened?"

"Alluka is being bullied at school."

"Dad, it's not bullying! They're just joking around!"

Kurapika gripped the spoon he'd been using to stir the tea. "Is that what they tell you when they get caught? Because I promise you they are not joking until they get in trouble. I'm calling their mothers and I'm calling the school."

"Dad, please don't. They'll think I told you to, and they'll think I'm weak and that's the whole problem! They bully me because I'm small and feminine and I wear skirts and I paint my nails and they threaten to cut off my hair and they chase me home from school because a boy should be tough and strong and a boy never cries!"

Both parents were quiet after the outburst. Alluka looked stunned.

"It's okay, you can keep going." Leorio encouraged, sitting down at a barstool and putting his hand on her arm.

She took a deep breath. "It all started when I got in trouble for using the girl's bathroom. I was putting on makeup before school started, and someone saw me and reported me to the office. The girl who saw me took pictures and spread them around the school. Now everybody knows. Everybody is always mentioning how boys shouldn't sneak into the girl's bathroom, or how girls don't even feel safe there anymore. I get comments about wearing makeup all the time. I stopped for a while, but people would never let it go."

Kurapika handed her the ready cup of tea, and she continued.

"And a couple of days ago they noticed my hair getting longer and now whenever someone is sitting behind me in class they pick at it and pretend to cut it. Then today I wore a skirt to school and those boys were threatening to rip it up because they'd rather have a naked boy in their school than one that wears skirts."

"Did you take the bus home?" Leorio asked.

Alluka nodded. "I had to run from the bus stop because they were following me."

Kurapika nodded. "I can arrange for you to have a private escort to school. Someone I trust will pick you up and drop you off."

Alluka took a deep breath. "That would be really nice, I wouldn't have to worry about people throwing stuff at me on the bus."

"Sweetheart, I'm so sorry." Leorio wrapped her up in a hug. He continued talking to her, reassuring her that everything would be fine, and Kurapika took a step back to the hallway entrance.

Kurapika stopped in the doorway. His eyes glowing faintly, he whispered with barely contained rage. "Killua, get in the car."

"You got it."

-

Leorio waited in the living room with his arms crossed. When the front door finally opened, he glared at his husband and son. "And where have you been all evening?"

Kurapika hung up his jacket. "Ah, you know... sightseeing."

"Kurapika, I told you not to include the kids in that kind of stuff."

"I wanted to go, Papa." Killua insisted. "Alluka's my sister, and if we're getting revenge for her sake, then I'm all in."

"What did you do?" Leorio asked his son.

"He performed very impressively tonight. That's all." Kurapika said simply.

"What did you do? I want details of the crimes for when I have to fill out police reports about a mysterious murder."

"Come on, I'm only 16, I'm not old enough for murder." Killua slipped his gloves off and walked away to his room.

Leorio watched dumbfoundedly as he left. Then he turned to his husband. "What the hell was that?"

"I was just blowing him full of hot air so he felt like he did something for his sister," Kurapika whispered. "All we did was some night stalking, stealth work, and took pictures of their houses so my friends can handle it. He thinks we are pulling a massive prank on them and listing their houses for sale, that's all. He has no idea, I promise."

Leorio slouched and gave a dramatic sigh. "Kurapikaaaa I don't like it when you scare me like that."

"I'm sorry baby, it's all for the act." He leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. "Now, where's Alluka? I just want to check in with her, see how she's doing."

"In her room. I think everything's okay, buuuuut you know teenagers, always keeping things to themselves."

Teenager. That word resonated deep in Kurapika's heart. My babies are growing up. "Thank you. I locked the door behind me, will you do a sweep before bed?"

Leorio tapped his chin. "Magic word."

"Please?"

Leorio stooped to kiss Kurapika. "Of course. Go have your chat and meet me in our room for smooches afterward."

"Aye aye, captain." Kurapika pinched his bum as he turned around to do a security sweep of the house.

"For the record, you guys are gross." Killua noted.

"How much did you hear?"

"Right when Papa called us teeenagers and you got that weird look on your face."

Kurapika rolled his eyes and walked toward the bedroom hallway. "I did not get a weird look on my face."

"You totally did!" Killua walked with him and went into his own room with a "g'night, love you."

Kurapika stopped outside of Alluka's room and knocked on the door.

"Come in." The voice was very sad.

Kurapika opened the door to see Alluka wiping her face on her sleeves.

"Dad, do you still see me as a boy? Be honest."

Kurapika shook his head. "Even before you came out, I knew you were different."

"Really?"

"Yeah," Kurapika leaned against the door. "It's in the way you hold yourself. You are much more confident when you're feminine presenting."

Alluka blinked. "I hadn't thought of that."
