It's Over

Angst hahaha

Kurapika collapsed to his knees, clutching his shoulder as he bled out onto the rain soaked pavement.

"Was that all you've got?" Chrollo himself stepped into Kurapika's space and kicked him in the head, sending him sprawling to the ground. "I expected more from York New's legendary chain user."

"Fuck. You." Kurapika managed between heavy breaths. His world was swimming and spinning.

Chrollo opened his book of spells and began to write. He closed the book and stepped over to Kurapika who was trying to get up. He pushed the blond back down, pinning him there with a heavy boot.

"Your nen is mine." Chrollo sneered, snatching up Kurapika's hand. He was about to place Kurapika's palm on the cover when a voice stopped him.

"I don't think so." Leorio stood underneath a street lamp across the road. In his hand he was holding Chrollo's book. "Let the man go. This doesn't have to get messy."

"Oh. You must be his loyal guard dog. I've heard so much about you." Chrollo drawled. "Give me the book."

"Give me the boy." Leorio said. "If you let him go, it's all yours."

Chrollo pressed his foot into Kurapika's injured shoulder, making him scream out. "I can wait all day. Soon, the chain user will die, and I'll just take the book from you by force."

Leorio opened the book and held it by the top, ready to rip. That made Chrollo freeze.

"You have ten seconds to make up your mind. Step away from the man, and come get this goddamn book. 10. 9. 8."

Chrollo looked down at Kurapika, who was gritting his teeth against the pain. "Your guard dog is so naive."

He thrust his hand downward, and a sword extended out of his palm, plunging into Kurapika's heaving chest. Kurapika screamed. Leorio smiled. Chrollo's eyes widened.

The sword he was holding had plunged through a portal and had pierced the book. The book began to bleed ink as the spells were undone. Chrollo retracted the sword and staggered back from the portal. The portal closed, and he turned to Leorio, who was ripping out pages and shredding them.

Chrollo turned back to look at Kurapika. He lunged at the dying man with another knife, but his arm disappeared into a portal. He tried the other hand, which went into a different portal. He desperately tried to reach the chain user. I'll kill him.

Leorio would not allow it. He redirected the next stab to reverse right into Chrollo's own stomach. The phantom troupe leader stabbed himself three more times before he realized what he'd done.

Chrollo collapsed on top of Kurapika, and Leorio ran over to shove him off.

"Sunshine, you alive?" Leorio pulled him up.

"Yeah. Shit this hurts."

"Let's get you out of here." Leorio tried to lift him up.

"Chrollo, is he dead?" Kurapika tried to look around him to see.

Leorio glanced over his shoulder. "He should be. He stabbed himself a bunch."

"It's not over yet." Kurapika growled. "Move over Leorio."

Leorio did as he was told. He didn't want Kurapika to move with that bleeding injury of his, but he also knew that this final act of revenge was more important to Kurapika than his own life.

Kurapika crawled over to the troupe leader, with help from Leorio of course, and looked him directly in the face. "I. Fucking. Hate you."

Then Kurapika did something so unexpected and gruesome that Leorio had to look away. He ripped out Chrollo's eyes. Then he summoned his chains, and pointed it directly at the man's heart.
