{discussing boundaries. There is some touching in the first part, and also mentions of *cough* sex *cough* so I've marked it as slight nsfw.}
Kurapika wandered into the kitchen, searching for the man-heater that left him in bed this morning. Leorio was at the table, reading through work emails on his laptop.
Kurapika pulled Leorio's shoulder back so he was sitting straight, then deposited himself on his lap. Leorio gladly accepted his lover, wrapping him in warm warm warm.
After about a minute of rubbing Kurapika's back, Leorio closed his laptop. He lifted Kurapika's chin and gave him a kiss. A long kiss. Which gradually gained heat as Kurapika warmed up to the idea of making out so early in the morning.
Leorio put his hand on Kurapika's chest, then slowly touched lower, and lower... then he felt Kurapika's crotch. He slowly palmed the man, trying to elicit a reaction.
Kurapika put a hand firmly around Leorio's wrist, stopping him. "I'm sorry baby, I'm too tired right now."
Leorio nodded, and kissed his forehead. He stood up and carried Kurapika back to bed, finally deciding to join him after being begged not to leave his lover in a cold, lonely bed.
Leorio obliged, cuddling up with the Kurta man. Kurapika felt safe. He was so so lucky to have someone so considerate and respectful as a partner, and he knew it.

Kurapika was a very literal man. Some would call him blunt. So he didn't quite understand the need for 'safe words.' If you want me to stop, then tell me to stop.
But that always brought the response what if I don't really want to stop, but I can't say anything else?
Okay, first of all, when would we ever be in a situation where you couldn't say anything else- 'think about it, Kurapika.' And second, if you don't want me to stop, then I won't! Just tell me what to do and I'll do it.
Well, that's how things were in the beginning. But, as the Kurtan man learned more about his partner, he saw that Leorio wasn't like him. Leorio liked to sugar coat things, which- okay, they would need to work on him getting to the point, sometimes- but it wasn't a bad thing.
Leorio had boundaries, just like Kurapika. He just,,, didn't like to be confronted about it. He was a people-pleaser. He has always put his partner's needs before his own. That had gotten him into trouble once or twice, but that was just who he was.
Leorio liked to make other people feel good. Usually on the way he would feel good too. But he had to draw the line somewhere.
He didn't like choking. Whether by theatric pseudo-argument, or rough play in the bed, it reminded him too much of his dad's punishments growing up. That was also why he didn't like being hit. Even spanking was too much for him.
He didn't tolerate degradation very well. His self esteem was too fragile to be battered around during banter.
But Leorio, you're so vanilla! Some would say. And while there was truth in that, there were lots of things to still explore that didn't involve being... mistreated. That's what he was most afraid of.
But Kurapika would never mistreat him. Sure, they had heir differences when they'd met, and Kurapika had to work on not being so harsh sometimes, but he would never do anything to specifically upset his lover.
Even outside the bedroom, Kurapika made sure to praise Leorio often. It might just be stroking his ego, but Leorio was a sensitive guy. He could sense slight changes in mood, and he often got anxious when he didn't know why.
So Kurapika was sure to communicate with him. They had rules, they had boundaries, and they had trust strong enough to talk about it.
And they adored each other. Affection wasn't only exchanged with words. It was also little touches, a 'did you sleep well?' A kiss on the forehead, the squeezing of a hand, or even a fond look. As they learned more about one another, they fell more and more in love.
