Tris POV
It been a month since the dance and since I had that dream. Though I've tried to push it out of my head and as far away as possible, I can still feel it. I can still hear the lingering words.
I walk up to my locker getting ready for last period, when tobias walks up to me. "Can I talk to you?" He asks. "I gotta get to class." I say closing my locker. "No tris. I need to talk to you." He says sternly. It must be important. "What?" I ask turning to face him. "Not here." He says and I throw my hands up in surrender. "Not here, not now.. I gotta go tobias! Just tell me later." I say. He shakes his head. Then he grabs hold of my arms and yanks me with him.
"Wait! Where are we going?!" I say. He doesn't say anything but instead drags me into a janitors closet. He lets go of my arm, locks the door then turns on the light bulb switch. "What is so important that we are talking in a closet?! I exclaim. He takes a breathe. "You." He says and my heart stops. Is he breaking up with me? "No I'm not." He says. I slap a hand over my mouth, I must've said that out loud. He nods. "You've been acting different lastly and I want to know why, I want to know the truth." He says. He wants to know about that dream.
I take a deep breaths and let it out. "I.. There was this dream." I say. "And.." He says to push more out of me. "It was about you and Marcus and he said that I wouldn't be able to protect you forever!" I spit out with some tears. I can see in Tobias's eyes that he can tell how much it affected me. He pulls me into a hug and I can smell his cologne and soap and sweat on his T-shirt, it smells like him. "I'm sorry." I say pulling back. "He's right though." I say. "Maybe so tris but I don't care. I'm the one who protects you not the other way around. Tris I've learned to live with this, I'm fine. I just need you back to your normal self." He says the last part with a smile.
I nod. He kisses my lips and opens the door. "Now let's get you to last period!" He says taking my hand.
