Tris POV
The guys apparently rented a limo for the night, so we're all taking that. I had asked Tobias where our car was because it wasn't in the parking lot, but he said not to worry about it. So I'm hoping he knows where it is- hoping. We get to the school and I never knew that they could make the outside look so beautiful. The bricks are covered in lights, and more dangle from the entrance. Tobias holds his hand out, waiting for me to take it. But he doesn't have to hold it out for long.
We're walking up the steps and the doors are already open, letting you see what in there. And what I can see is a line of people ready to get their pictures taken, and I can see a glow from the bottom of the gymnasium doors where the dance is actually being held.
The line surprisingly moves fast and soon Tobias and I are second in line. You can now see the backdrop you'll stand in front of for the picture, and it's simply magical. It reminds me of a wedding arch, because that's the shape. But you can't tell where the real structure is, it looks like it's made souly out of black and blue lights.
We step up and watch the next couple get their pictures taken, and I gulp. I've always been nervous about taking pictures, I'm not that kind of person who loves taking them.
"We're up." Tobias whispers into my ear. I look up and we step forward to the display. Uriah and Marlene were behind us, but they didn't notice that we went up. Too busy making out, right there in the school hallway- holding up a line.
I stand on Tobias's left and he has his arms wrapped around my waist. His cheek pressed up against mine, and I can feel him smiling. Suddenly he tickles me and I laugh then look up to him smiling from my ticklishness. The camera snaps and I look away, standing up straighter now.
"One more. I'll pay you extra." Tobias tells the camera man. I look oddly at him, "I wanted another one with you." He tell me. And then leans down and kisses me gently.
It's as if the camera or camera man isn't there, that no one else is there. Just us two. But the camera man is there and the camera is there, and it just caught this moment on film for us. He pulls away and we move out of the way and walk towards the gym.
"You're not really going to pay extra are you?" I ask knowing when we're far enough from the camera man. Tobias chuckles. "You know me too well." He says.
"It's not nice to rip people off four." I tell him, joking but stern. "Lesson learned Beatrice." He says and I glare as he uses my real name against me, like I did him.
"Did I tell you that you look breathtaking tonight?" Tobias asks.
"No. You didn't." I say messing with him. He pulls me closer to him.
"Well you do." He says and I smile. He pushes the door open and reveals the stunning inside. "Wow." I breathe.
Blue and black lights hang from the ceiling and all around. There are tables and chairs, a very big dance floor, and a DJ. The decorations are amazing, for a gym anyway.
The tables have white tablecloths, but lights are wrapped around them, making them glow. I look up as we walk further into the gym, and see three blue chandeliers that I never knew could hang there.
"It's amazing." I tell Tobias. "Yeah, it is pretty awesome." He agrees.
We eventually find a table and our friends join us. Everyone here looks so happy, so content to be here. Looking around everyone looks happy, and ready for this night.
"Did you enter for prom queen Tris?" I hear Christina ask. "No." I answer simply, and get gasps from them.
"What?" I ask shrugging. "How could you not enter?! You would've won." Marlene says.
