"Brenna!" Jessie called from down stairs, "There's someone here for you!"

"Coming!" the teen girl called back, as she tried to clip a necklace around her neck, it was gold shell necklace that her mom had given her as a baby.

Brenna had worked for a few hours at the smoothie shop and had been home for all of thirty minutes, and she had spent the whole time getting ready.

"Hey," she smiled, meeting the piercing blue eyes of Rafe Cameron who stood awkwardly in the foyer of the Carlson's house, dressed in the traditional kook uniform of a polo and khaki shorts.

"Hey, you look nice," he said examining the girls outfit containing white cutoff jean shorts and a sage green wrap top that she had tied perfectly around her chest.

"Thanks, not too bad yourself," Brenna smiled.

"I gotta make a quick stop first," Rafe explained as the two teens left the house.

"As long as you don't murder me I'm good with whatever," Brenna giggled.

"No promises where we're going," he half joked along as he sped off the two of them
in his truck.

"Rafe seriously?" Brenna sighed when they pulled up to Barry's house on the cut, even Brenna didn't dare to go on this side of the cut.

As much as he hated being on the cut, Rafe spent a lot of time at this house specify, feeding his bad habits.

Everyone knew Barry could get anyone any drug they wanted at the right price and everyone new he wasn't a guy you'd want to wrong.

"I'll be quick, just wait here," Rafe said putting the car in park and hopping out, "Don't leave the car"

Brenna rolled her eyes as he slammed the door shut.

Brenna played with her necklace and stared at the house while she anxiously waited for Rafe. It was only about five minutes before he came back out.

"Rafe, why'd we stop here?" Brenna asked when the blonde boy got back in the car.

"Had to pick something up"

"Are you doing coke again?" Brenna asked, not very shocked because Rafe always did stupid shit. He thought he was untouchable.

"Don't worry about it," he said pulling away from the run down house.

"Rafe!"

"It's all taken care of"

"You're making no sense, are you high right now? Should you even be driving?" Brenna stared at the boy from the passenger seat.

"Seriously! Rafe pull over!" Brenna raised her voice, "God you haven't changed at all," the girl leaned back into the seat crossing her arms over her chest.

She knew to never start anything with him again, yet she did.

The rest of the drive was silent until they pulled up to Topper's house and they could hear the music blasting from the driveway.
