Later that same day Brenna sat outside by the pool, book in hand as the sunset over the marsh, she was now in a hoodie three sizes too big, trying to forget everything going on for just a minute.

A knock on the pillar behind her made her jump and turn to look over her shoulder.

"Sorry," Kiara giggled, coming to join her on the pool chair. Brenna pulled her legs into a criss cross formation, while Kiara took a seat at the end of the chair.

"You okay?" Kiara asked once she could see the brunettes face better.

Brenna had been crying, her cheeks still red and her eyes puffy, obvious hurt in her eyes.

Brenna didn't say anything, just nodded.

"Hey," Kiara smiled, putting her hand on Brenna's cheek, Brenna flinched, "Talk to me, please"

"Kie, I'm fine," Brenna forced a smile, looking right a Kiara, who removed her hand from her cheek.

"That's a lie, you just flinched when I touched you," Kiara pointed out, Brenna hadn't even realized she had done it.

"What happened?"

"Kie, can we please drop it, I'm fine," Brenna begged, letting out a sigh.

"Fine," Kiara sighed, she knew Brenna was lying but didn't want to push her, "Pope and I are going to John B's later to get some supplies if you wanna come"

"Sure," Brenna sighed.

The two girls went quiet for a second.

"Can we just lay for a minute? I need a break," Brenna asked. Kiara smiled and nodded.

Brenna slid over and Kiara got comfy next to her, Brenna rested her head on Kiara's chest, wrapping her arms around her, Kiara's arm around Brenna's shoulders.

The two girls laid there for what felt like forever, in the best way, watching the sunset, Kiara running her fingers through Brenna's wavy hair.

"I'm sorry," Kiara sighed.

"For what?" Brenna asked looking up at Kiara.

"For bringing you into all this," Kiara said looking out at the pool.

"I chose to do this, I chose to join you guys," Brenna pointed out.

Kiara let out a deep sigh, she couldn't help but feel bad.

"Hey," Brenna started, sitting up to see Kiara better, "Think of it this way, if I hadn't of forced my way into y'all's plan I would of never got to know you, I wouldn't be able to do this," Brenna have Kiara a quick kiss.

"I wouldn't even know I had a brother," Brenna giggled.

"I still can't believe that," Kiara chucked, shaking her head.

"How do you think I feel?" Brenna laughed.

"I still can't believe we're actually going to have 400 million in gold!" she whispered the last part.
