"Shit, the tide," Brenna leaned forward, looking at the water as John B slowed the van down, triple the amount of water now filling the spot they had braved before.

"This doesn't look good," Pope said looking out the side window.

"How deep is that?" Kiara asked looking out at the water.

"I dunno, but the road's gone," John B groaned, the van coming to a full stop.

"Tide rose faster than I thought it would," JJ sighed.

"Ya think?" Brenna made a sarcastic face looking back at the blonde, who just playfully pushed her face away.

"Uh, John B, how high are the spark plugs?" JJ asked, seriously, turning to the boy in the drivers seat.

"They're good, they're fine," John B shrugged. Brenna scrunched her face at the way he ignored the question.

"But how high are they?" JJ and Pope both asked again.

John B leaned out the window to look, "Just above the taillight"

"Okay, so that's, what, three feet?" Pope started to do mental math.

"That's three feet," JJ nodded at Pope.

"That water can't be three feet deep," Kiara said from the back seat.

"Then what's the problem?" John B asked.

"Not a problem," JJ nodded, tapping the back of John B's chair, taking a seat on the floor.

"Ladies and gentleman, fasten your seatbelts," John B said trying to brace everyone.

"Oh god," Brenna grabbed onto the sides of the seat, shutting her eyes.

"Hold on to something," John B kept going, "We're going into hyperdrive"

Everyone braced themselves and hopped for the best as John B counted down, pressing hard on the gas, the van taking a minute to get moving then speeding off into the water. Everyone was yelling in fear and words of encouragement.

"Shit, shit shit!" Brenna screamed, eyes open now, as they almost made it across but the van swerved at the last minute, trapping the teens.

"I think we miscalculated," Pope announced from the back.

Sarah gave him a duh look and Brenna looked back at him with a look that said 'no shit'.

"I knew I should of driven," JJ complained from the back seat as John B rested his head on the steering wheel.

"I really don't think that would of helped," Brenna shook her head.

"Okay what now?" Brenna looked at a defeated looking John B, who looked up at her.

"Should we see how bad it is? Maybe we can push?" Brenna was trying to stay positive or at least attempt to keep moral up.

"Everyone out!" she cheered opening her own door then sliding open the back door, cold water up to her knees.

Everyone got out to analyze the situation, everyone deciding it would be too hard to push the van out.
