"Is it gonna be like this forever?" Brenna asked laying on the pull out couch in the living room of the chateau, starting at the dark ceiling, almost every light, besides the lamp in the corner, off.

"I hope not," Kiara sighed laying beside her also starting at the ceiling.

"Okay but if we find the gold or whatever it is we're even after anymore who's to say there's not other people after it, there's always going to be people after it," Brenna ranted.

"That's uhm," Kiara paused, "A good point"

"I just hope Sarah's okay"

"God," Kiara rolled her eyes, something Brenna couldn't see.

"What?" Brenna sat up.

"Nothing"

"Kie! Talk to me," she reached for her hand, Kiara pulled it away, "Kie, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, its just you always talk about Sarah," Kiara sat up.

"She's my best friend!"

"Is she?"

"Oh my god you think I like her!" Brenna's eyes got wide.

"You act like it," Kiara mumbled, sitting up.

"God Kie," Brenna got off the couch, pushing her hair out of her face.

"Ren please, I don't wanna do this right now"

"You started this!" Brenna squealed.

"Ren just lay down let's go to sleep," Kiara tried to reason.

"No, I'm gonna go sleep on the patio if you decide you wanna pick another fight," Brenna snapped making her way around the couch, the screen door squeaking shut as she exited the house.

"Ren?" John B poked his sisters arm, finding her curled up in a ball on the old couch out front the next morning.

"Shh," Brenna hummed, eyes still closed.

"Why are you sleeping out here?"

"Fight"

"Fight?"

"Oh my god," Brenna sat up, "Can't a girl sleep in peace around here?"

"What happen?" John B took a seat across from her.

"Kie thinks I have a thing for Sarah, don't get me wrong she's a cute girl but I don't like her like that, she's my best friend," Brenna explained, rolling over to face John B.

"My sister and my ex dating, now that sounds like a bad rom-com," John B joked.

"I'm gonna kill you," she glared at him.

"I'm kidding! Why does she think that?"

"Evidently I talk about her a lot? I don't know I didn't let it get to far before I left the situation because I couldn't deal with it," Brenna shrugged, a breeze brushing past her, "Can I get a jacket or something?"
