Time seemed to slow down, the day after Brenna spent in her bed her pillow stained with tears, barely able to close her eyes without the moment replaying in her head.

Her Uncles tried to comfort her but they were just glad she was home and not out running around with people they didn't approve of.

Sarah had been one constant in her life, besides her mom, someone she had always trusted, now she was gone.

John B was her new found family, like actual blood related family and now he was gone.

Brenna didn't want to believe it, any of it. She wished she could go back to when it was just her and her mom, no OBX, no pogues, no kooks, no twin brother, no treasure hunt.

After a week of moping around Freddie and Jessie made her come back to work, they were trying to help her get her mind off of things, even though they still hadn't all talked about what had happen, or the fact that they knew about John B and didn't tell her.

Brenna mainly hung out in the back, away from any gossiping voices or familiar faces, her first day back at work she heard Pope come by dropping off their grocery order.

"Uhm is Brenna here?" she heard him ask timidly as she came close to the blue curtain that separated the back from the front.

"She's not here right now," she heard Freddie say. She rolled her eyes, knowing that he just didn't want her to hang around them, but she was also happy to not see Pope, she'd start crying, again, if she did.

"Can you tell her that we're going to all hang out at the chateau tonight and would love for her to be there," Pope said, his voice was soft, he sounded sad.

"Will do," Freddie replied. He never told her but she heard it, but didn't go, she couldn't handle seeing the pogues.

That same night Brenna was starting to go downstairs to find something to eat when the doorbell rang, she stopped in the middle of the stairs, taking a couple steps back, squatting down so she could see the door but stay hidden.

"Oh hi," Jessie smiled opening the door. Brenna's eyes met Kiara, she looked sad, Brenna wanted nothing more then to run and hug her, but something held her back.

"Is Ren here?" Kiara asked quietly.

"She's uhm," Jessie pondered like he wanted to tell her she was upstairs, "She's not right now, sorry, honey"

Brenna sighed before turning to go back to her room.

She had avoided seeing the pogues like the plague, she didn't know what to say to them. John B had been their best friend, their leader. She had only just gotten to know them.
