There was a karate session scheduled for the next day, so after school Mrs. Diaz dropped Ivy and Miguel off at the Dojo. When they got out of the car, they were surprised to see a large group of kids outside. Almost all of them had their phones out to watch Miguel's fight- which had gone viral- and they high fived him and cheered him on as they made their way to the door. Miguel crossed his arms proudly and smirked.

"Sensei is going to love this."

"Yeah, and with this many kids he won't need me anymore." Ivy nodded.

"Don't you dare quit, I need you." Miguel shot her a glare.

"Yeah, fine, whatever." She shrugged in defeat.

Johnny pulled up in his Firebird a moment later, a look of surprise and confusion on his face as he got out. He looked around at all the kids as he made his way to Miguel, who was still smirking. They shared a look, and a smile appeared on Johnny's face.

"Looks like we're open for business." He grinned.

He shared a nod with the two teens before he unlocked the door and opened the Dojo.

Once the three of them entered, the rest of the kids flooded inside. Ivy moved to the wall quickly, not wanting to get trampled. The room filled with the sound of gossip, making her feel a little claustrophobic. She backed farther into the wall, only for someone to grab her hand.

"A-are you okay?"

She turned to see Eli, and she was so happy that nothing else around her mattered.

"Eli, you're here! You're at Cobra Kai!" she beamed excitedly and squeezed his hand.

"Yeah...after the fight at school, Dimitri couldn't say no anymore..." Eli smiled.

Ivy then noticed Dimitri standing awkwardly behind Eli. He was fidgeting and looking around nervously at the other kids.

"Dimitri, it's good that you're here." Ivy tried to welcome him, but he wasn't having it.

"Yeah, sure." He huffed, refusing to meet her gaze.

She shrugged him off and turned back to Eli with a smile, their hands still clasped together.

"I'm so happy you're here!"

"Yeah?" he blushed deeply.

"Yeah, I-"

"Okay! Today we begin!" Johnny's voice boomed from the back, barely understandable over all the chatter.

He looked around and waited, but when the noise continued, he went straight into Sensei mode.

"QUIET!" he shouted, and everyone went silent, "Face front!"

The group moved in uniform to stand facing him as Johnny began his usual pacing. Ivy began to wonder if this was a tick. He moved through the group to look over the potential new students, stopping at Dimitri first.

"Nice shirt." Johnny mumbled.

"Thanks, I-"

"I'm just kidding, it sucks." Johnny brushed him off and moved on to examine other kids, "Word of advice, if you got shit for teeth, don't smile...god, I feel like a virgin just looking at you..."

Ivy crossed her arms in irritation as Johnny assessed more kids. For someone who was desperate for money, could he really be so picky with who joined?
