((A/N: It wasn't going to go this way, but Ivy told me otherwise. Hope you enjoy! :D))

Daniel returned with a Gi and Sam. While Daniel walked to Eli to get everyone started on the sparring deck, Sam lingered behind to make her way to Ivy. Ivy closed the gap, pulling out a smoke to ease some of the tension from her chest as she watched her boyfriend from afar. The sight of him in a Miyagi-Do Gi looked so wrong it made her nauseas, but she swallowed it down for his sake and crossed her arms.

"So, dad told me what's going on." Sam started carefully.

"Well, that's that, then." Ivy shrugged without looking at her.

"Does it hurt you to be here?" Sam asked.

"No." Ivy shook her head, "It hurts me to know that despite our best efforts, we still couldn't merge the Dojos."

"Yeah, I'm still pretty upset about that too." Sam nodded, joining her in watching Eli on the deck, "But at least we have even teams now."

"It shouldn't be this way." Ivy bit her lip to keep her anger in check, "Now we have to fight each other in addition to Cobra Kai. Our odds were better before."

"I know, I'm just as frustrated. And I have even more bad news." Sam rolled her eyes, and Ivy finally looked to her, "Tory's been given permission to come back to school. She comes back tomorrow."

"Really?" Ivy rose her brow in disbelief, "Who gave her permission?"

"My parents." Sam's tone turned hateful, "She gave them some sort of sob story to convince them to let her come back."

Ivy went quiet, knowing it wasn't really a sob story. Tory's aunt must have put a fire under her ass, and she was going to do everything she could to prevent her aunt from getting any money or custody of her brother from her. Ivy understood, she almost felt sorry for her, but she wasn't about to tell Sam that. Not only was it none of her business, but Sam would never be able to see Tory as a person, and Ivy couldn't blame her.

"I went to see Aisha yesterday." Sam went on plainly.

"Oh yeah?" Ivy asked, surprised, "How's she doing?"

"She's doing great, she really likes it up there." Sam shrugged, "I asked her what to do about Tory."

"And I suppose she gave you good advice. She did know Tory pretty well when she was here." Ivy mirrored her shrug, "What did she tell you?"

"To strike first." Sam smiled, a glimmer of mischief in her eyes.

"You're going to fight her?" Ivy sighed, annoyed.

"No, but I'm going to make sure she knows where she belongs." Sam's smile turned into a smirk.

"Fine, whatever." Ivy rolled her eyes, not entirely believing her, "As long as you don't fight her. We have enough problems on our hands."

"Not for long." Sam looked away.

Ivy followed her gaze to the sparring deck where Daniel was running each pair of boys through mock tournament matches, the speakers blaring cheers she could only assume were meant to be distracting. Eli's pale skin glowed against the white of his Miyagi-Do Gi and she had to shake off the sickness again. She hoped Sam was right in that it wouldn't be too much longer, because she didn't know how long she would be able to stand this.

The next morning at school, Ivy lingered in the lobby near Sam, who was clearly waiting for Tory to show. After how she acted yesterday, she wasn't sure she could trust her not to fight, and Ivy was on edge over it, ready to step in if she needed to.
