The next day at lunch, Sam made it a point to sit next to Ivy at the Miyagi-Do table again. Ivy didn't think much of it, figuring she just wanted another girl to talk to, but she had to admit, she was still getting used to the idea of sitting with the Miyagi-Dos. The boys chatted along casually about some T.V. show as Ivy picked at her lunch, her mind caught up in too many things to contribute to the conversation.
"So, uh, have you been to see Miguel?" Sam asked her quietly.
"Yeah." Ivy shrugged without looking at her, "He's doing pretty good."
"Good. Um...I was thinking of going to see him." Sam fidgeted with her food, "But I'm kind of scared to go..."
"Are you asking for an escort?" Ivy asked, pushing her food around her tray absentmindedly.
"I don't know...maybe?" Sam sighed, "I just, I made him a card and I wanted to give it to him."
"I can follow you in my truck so you don't have to go alone." Ivy offered.
"Actually, would you mind giving me a ride?" Sam asked feebly, "My mom's been driving me to school because she's still worried."
Ivy looked to her with a silly grin.
"Could have just said hey Ivy, can you give me a ride to see Miguel?" Ivy teased her with a laugh, "No need for all the small talk."
"I mean, I know you've been sitting with us at lunch, but I wasn't sure how comfortable you'd be with us outside of school." Sam admitted.
"You can ask me for favors. As long as it doesn't get in the way with my agenda, I'll help you out." Ivy nodded kindly.
"Thanks." Sam gave her a smile, "But uh, what's your agenda?"
"World domination." Ivy smirked without missing a beat, "I'll meet you out front after school, and then we'll go right to see Miguel, okay?"
"Yeah, sounds good." Sam smiled, "Thanks."
"Anytime, princess." Ivy clapped her on the shoulder and Sam flinched, "Oh, sorry. Old habit."
Sam gave her an uncomfortable look, and Ivy groaned internally as she went back to her lunch. This new normal was going to take a long time to get used to.
Ivy waited out front for Sam after school like she promised. As she was waiting, she spotted Hawk leaving with some other cobras. She bit her lip, mesmerized by him once again, but when he caught her gaze, she quickly looked away and waited for the group to pass.
Suddenly, Bert ran out to try and catch up to them, but he was met by boos and jeers from the cobras. Ivy watched them, curious.
"Come on, guys, I'm still badass. Just give me another chance!" Bert pleaded with them.
"You're just a little pussy, you couldn't even feed a snake!" Hawk spat at him, "Get out of here, you reject! You had your chance."
Bert's shoulders slumped in defeat, and the cobras laughed and shook their heads before they left him behind. Ivy moved to Bert, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, what was that all about?" she asked gently.
"I got kicked out of Cobra Kai." Bert answered gloomily.
"What for?" Ivy rose her eyebrow.
"Sensei Kreese bought the Dojo a new pet. It was a tiny hamster. He gave it to me and let me name it, I name it Clarence. It was so adorable and cuddly and small...but it was a trick." Bert pushed out sadly, "Clarence wasn't the new pet, he was food for the new pet. Sensei Kreese got a snake, and he told me to feed Clarence to it."
