Though they texted all day Sunday, Ivy didn't go to see Robby. She was still irritated about his decision to drop out, but this wasn't why she hadn't gone to meet him. He had business to take care of with Trey and Cruz, and Ivy had absolutely no interest in ever seeing those two again. Instead, she focused on herself that day. She cleaned up her apartment so it was spotless, organized her stuff for school in the morning, and spent a long while on the phone with her grandma to check in. When night fell, she showered up and headed off to bed, making sure to text Robby goodnight so he knew they were okay.

In the morning, she rode to school with Miguel as usual. There was an uncomfortable tension between him and his mom, made even more apparent by his refusal to speak to her. Ivy decided not to speak either, she wouldn't have contributed anything meaningful anyways.

When lunch came around, Dimitri suggested that they eat in the library instead. He had some work he wanted to get a head start on. Ivy saw this as a great idea. This way she could get more schoolwork done so she was free after school. Miguel was too upset to speak on it either way, and Eli said nothing as usual, so Dimitri won, and they headed to the library.

They sat down at a table and set out their books and food. Dimitri was on the end, then Miguel, then Ivy, and finally Eli sat on the other end. Miguel must have told Dimitri what had happened, because once they started eating, he got right on him.

"So that's it then?" Dimitri looked to Miguel, "No more karate?"

"I guess so." Miguel shook his head, disappointed.

"It's probably for the best." Dimitri nodded, "It was starting to boost your confidence."

"Isn't that a good thing?" Miguel gave him a look.

"No! What has confidence ever gotten anybody? Except for a black eye and a backpack thrown in the trash..." Dimitri huffed in irritation.

"Well...I thought it was kind of cool...how you stood up to Kyler..." Eli added quietly.

"Are you insane?" Dimitri chastised him, "Let me ask you, what is the best superpower you could ever have?"

"Super strength." Miguel nodded without hesitation.

"Wrong!" Dimitri jabbed his pen at him, "Invisibility. A distant second would be super speed, to run away fast."

"Wouldn't teleportation be a quicker way to disappear?" Ivy asked.

"I like your thinking." Dimitri now jabbed his pen towards her, "But it's debatable. I'd have to do a little more research to be sure."

"Guess you're stuck running for now then." Ivy shrugged.

"Running away from who?"

They all turned to see Kyler and Brucks had appeared behind them. Miguel and Dimitri groaned as Ivy noticed that Kyler had his hand on Eli's shoulder. She instantly tensed.

"Whom." Brucks corrected Kyler suddenly, "It's the object of preposition. Remember in English class?"

Kyler looked back to him in confusion, and the four of them took that opportunity to gather up their things and try to beat feet.

"We were just leaving." Dimitri said as they all got up to rush to the door.

"Hey, where you going?" Kyler spun Eli around to hold his chin in his hand and move his face back and forth, "Oh shit! What kind of girl would ever kiss this shit?"
