Her alarm rang early the next morning, and she turned it off before slapping it to the ground. With a long stretch, she sat up and forced herself out of bed to get ready. She changed into the outfit she picked out- a black tank top and jean shorts with no mention of Cobra Kai- and then went into her bathroom. She washed her face, brushed her hair and put her make-up on, her tattoo catching her eye in the mirror. For a moment, she considered covering it up, but quickly decided against it. For now, it would serve as a memoriam for her goal, and maybe if Hawk saw it, he would remember what they had and Eli would have a chance to resurface. She put on her dad's Tiger's Eye and then turned away from the mirror, not wanting to face her reflection any longer. Her stomach still hadn't settled, so she skipped breakfast, grabbed her bag from near the door, and got in her truck to leave for school.

She hesitated in the school parking lot, watching clusters of students enter the building. Everything looked normal, and to most students it probably was, but Ivy was part of something that lingered in the shadow of the school. Though there had been a resting period because of the suspensions, the war still continued between anyone belonging to a karate Dojo. As she watched the groups of kids, she remembered something Johnny had said before the All-Valley, and his voice was as clear as day in her mind: I may not always win, but I never back down from a fight. The memory gave her some strength, and she was able to get out of her truck.

As she made her way to the doors, she saw Moon sitting under a tree with a guitar. Other kids were gathered around her, holding up signs in protest of violence as Moon sang empty songs about peace. This time Kreese's voice entered Ivy's head, and she shuddered: There is no such thing as peace, only breaths between war. With a roll of her eyes, she hiked up her backpack and hurried into the school.

The entry way was now lined with metal detectors and security guards, and kids were lined up behind them awaiting inspection. When her turn came, she handed her bag to one of the guards and he skimmed through it while she walked through the metal detector. The guard cleared her, handing her her bag back so she could go into the school.

Hawk was nearby with Mitch and Bert, who had also chosen Kreese, but Hawk didn't see her come in. The sight of him sent a shockwave through her body. She hadn't seen him since the school fight, and it was so easy to forget what he had become. His smile, his eyes, his confidence, they all had her mesmerized, that is, until she watched him try to flirt with a few freshman girls as they walked by. They rejected him and walked away, but the smirk he gave them made her blood boil. With a clenched fist, she moved to confront him.

"Hey, Hawk." She purred, putting on a fake smirk in hopes to get him to let his guard down.

"Hey, Ivy." He returned her smirk, his eyes lighting up and drinking her in.

"I have something for you." She teased, reaching forward to walk her fingers down his chest. He sucked in a breath, his body pulsing with heat at her touch.

"Oh yeah?" his smirk deepened, his eyes lusting for her.

Before he could react, she balled her hand into a fist and socked him right in the balls as hard as she could. He let out a shout, doubling over in pain as his hands instinctively moved to protect his groin, and Mitch and Bert took a step back.

"It's barely been two weeks, you asshole!" she growled at him.

He was in too much pain to answer, and Ivy needed to stop herself before she went too far, so she turned to walk away.

Dimitri and some Miyagi-Dos were coming down the hall, and when he saw her, he motioned her over. She moved to him reluctantly, not really wanting to be involved with either side.
