Ivy spent all of Sunday with Johnny and Miguel. Now that Miguel could kind of stand up on his own, he had graduated to crutches, and Johnny was determined to have him ditch those fast. So once again, he had hatched up another one of his famous, crazy schemes. He had turned the whole lot near their apartments into an elaborate obstacle course to strengthen Miguel's legs. With the exception of meal and bathroom breaks, they were on the course all day, Miguel running through, Johnny coaching, and Ivy on standby for support. They had their frustrating moments, but generally it was a great day, and Miguel wanted to keep at the course until he could stand on his own again. Eventually night fell, and they had to separate back into their own apartments.
Ivy had a hard time falling asleep. The fight between Hawk and Brucks replayed in her mind, making her anxious. There was no doubt about it, those intense eyes belonged to Eli during that fight, but she worried that it was only for that moment. He had found a way through, but she feared that Hawk had come back just as fast, and she wouldn't know for sure until she saw him at school. Time was moving too slowly.
She shot out of bed the minute the sun came up. Changing into jeans and a black tank, she rushed through her hair and make-up and then grabbed her bag to go to her truck. She was too anxious to eat, and that anxiety churned in her stomach as she drove to school.
Hawk was talking to some other cobras in the lobby like he usually was, and as Ivy approached him, she noticed that he did look a little different. His eyes were more vibrant, his face less tired and worn, and from what she could tell, he didn't have a thing on him that represented Cobra Kai. She was hopeful, but held her breath, not wanting to assume anything until she knew the truth.
"Hey, Hawk." She gave him a gentle smile, and when he saw her, he flinched.
"I don't know what you heard." He narrowed his eyes and took a step back, "But I didn't do anything."
"I know." She nodded and held out her hand, "Come with me."
He gave her the weirdest look as he hesitated, but the lightness of his eyes made her chest flutter. Slowly, he put his hand in hers and she pulled him away from the cobras.
She dragged him down the hall and into the nearest empty classroom. Locking the door, she kept the lights off so no on would bother them and then pushed him into a corner. He looked to her oddly as she placed her hands on his face and started planting kisses all over him. His cheeks, his forehead, his jaw, his lips, not a single spot souring her lips. He grabbed her face similarly to stop her, kissing her lips deeply before he gently pushed her away.
"Not that I'm complaining, but what the hell is going on?" he rose his eyebrows in shock.
"I saw you fight Brucks." She couldn't help but beam.
"How the hell did you see that?" his eyes narrowed.
"Someone- not telling you who- showed me a video. I saw the whole thing." Her voice quivered with excitement, "I saw you."
"You're treating me like two different people again, aren't you?" he sighed.
"If you could see yourself through someone else's eyes, you'd agree that Hawk and Eli are very different." She explained gently.
"Whatever." He grumbled, subtly bringing her hips to his, "What're all the kisses for?"
"Because you did it. You beat the shit out of Brucks and made Kyler afraid of you. You finally got them back." She beamed again, "I'm so proud of you. I saw you, heard you, you were the one fighting Brucks, no Hawk persona needed."
