Ivy got up extra early the next morning so that she could take care of Miguel before the tournament. She knew he wasn't going to be himself because of the breakup, and he didn't need a hang over on top of that to distract him. With all that beer he drank yesterday, he was going to have a big one. Ivy was glad she had stuck with soda.

She went to work making coffee and eggs in the kitchen, but her movements were rigid and tense. Sleep hand provided her with a temporary band aide when it came to her emotions, but now that she was up and walking, the band aide had been ripped off, and her anger had returned. She took a deep breath as she cooked, trying to save her rage for the tournament like Johnny had suggested.

When breakfast was done, she filled a glass with water, grabbed some aspirin and walked into her bedroom. Miguel was deep asleep, his body sprawled out and partially hanging off of the bed. She nudged his arm with her foot since her hands were full.

"Migi...Migi..." she tried to wake him up, but he didn't stir, "Miguel! Wake up!"

Startled, he sat up quickly and looked around with half closed eyes. After a moment, he let out a loud groan and grabbed his head as he pinched his eyes shut.

"Yeah, I thought so." Ivy shook her head, "Here, take these and drink the whole glass."

She handed him the aspirin and water and he popped the pills in his mouth before chugging the glass down. He shook his head in pain as he handed the glass back.

"Yeah, that's just step one. Get in the kitchen so you can eat. We got a big day today." Ivy ordered and turned.

"Ivy..." Miguel mumbled, his voice hoarse.

"Huh?" she turned back to look at him.

"Did...did last night really happen?" he asked quietly.

"Yeah, it did." She sighed, "But don't worry, I'm newly single too."

"Was...was it my fault?" he looked to her, ashamed.

Ivy gave him a small smile, and she set the glass down on her nightstand before she sat down next to him.

"No, it was his fault." She put a hand on his shoulder to comfort him, "He told me it was him or Cobra Kai, and obviously I chose you guys."

"Why would you do that?" Miguel rose his eyebrow.

"Because, you're my best friend, Miguel. I wouldn't abandon you for anything in the world." Her smile grew.

"I would never abandon you either." Miguel smiled back.

"Well then I made the right choice, didn't I?" she patted his leg and stood, "Now come on. We need to get you feeling better so you can win that tournament."

"Yeah, okay." He nodded with a grin before following her.

When Miguel was sobered up, they went to join his mom and Yaya at his house so Mrs. Diaz could give them a ride to the tournament. They made sure not to mention that Miguel had spent the night at Ivy's, or the reason why he did, but his mom was too distracted to be suspicious. She was equal parts excited and worried about the tournament, but after some reassurance from Miguel, they were able to get in the car and head out.

His mom dropped them off in front of the All-Valley arena and left them to find a good parking spot. They found Eli, Aisha and Bert waiting outside and joined them. Miguel went into fight mode as they waited and began to practice punching in the air.

"Hey, Miguel! Calm down!" Eli called to him, "Save some for the tournament."

Miguel looked at him just long enough to roll his eyes before he went back to punching.
