Through his eyes

I was taking a little nap in the school library, trying to get some rest in my free period but someone kept hissing at me,

"Yo"
"Dude!"
"What?" I snapped at the boy behind the shelf
"I heard you sell" he whispered,

I got up from my seating position and dusted myself off
"Sell what?" I asked him confused
"How much for 5 gram?" He asked as he pulled his wallet out
"I'm not selling anything!" I hissed at him before I walked away.
I just wanted to rest!

I walked over to an empty table and used my school bag as a pillow.
I was just about to fall asleep when I felt a presence next to me, I slowly opened my eyes and came to view with a smiling Imani standing next to me. I felt my heartbeat quicken.
I quickly sat up

"Is this seat free?" She asked pointing to the seat in front of me, I nodded and she sat down.
Well this is awkward

She started to unpack some stuff from her bag and started working on the sheet in front of her. I couldn't help it but stare at her, she must've felt me do it because she peeked up and I quickly adverted my eyes to my thighs. Out of nowhere my stomach started to make some noises
Not now!

Welp maybe I should've eaten some breakfast this morning.

I heard Imani giggling and looked at her, I felt heat rise from my neck to my cheeks.
"Here" she said handing me her lunchbox
"I'm not hungry" I lied
"Yes you are" she said chuckling as she pushed her lunchbox towards me

"No thanks" I declined her offer and pushed the lunchbox back towards her,
she sighed and got up to sit next to me.
"Eat" she commanded holding a strawberry to my face
"No. I'm not some charity case you need to feed" I said turning away from her

"Theodore"
I felt my body temperature rise when my name rolled off her tongue.
"Please eat" she pleaded holding the strawberry to my lips. I sighed and opened my mouth a little to take a bite,
"That wasn't even a bite" Imani scoffed
"Here" she said holding a muffin in her hand
"No thank you" I tried to decline again
"I did them myself. Just try it, please" she said smiling, I sighed and took the muffin from her hand. She was watching me the whole time waiting for me to take a bite

"And?" She asked as I took a bite
I like it
"It's really good" I said finishing her muffin
"Thanks" she said shyly
"Kind of reminds me of the old times" she said looking down at her hands
"Why did we even stop hanging around?" she asked and I didn't knew how to respond.

"Anyways gotta go" she said packing her stuff before leaving, I watched her walk away.
I noticed that she forgot to take her lunchbox with her or she did it on purpose,
Anyways I can't wait for this day to be over.

"Wanna come to mine later?" Peter asked me as we walked out the school
"can't"
"Ugh you're so lame" he laughed
"Shut up" I said laughing with him

"Hey Theo" Selena Peters ex-girlfriend greeted as she walked past us,
I raised my brow at her and she winked at me.
I adverted my gaze back to Peter and he was glaring at me
"Is there something going on between you two?" Peter asked calmly but from the look on his face I know he was furious

"What?! No!"
"What was that then?!"
"I don't know! I would never go after your ex girlfriend!" I groaned
"She's bad news. Better stay away from her" was all he said before walking to his car.

I was about to start my car when my phone ringed, I picked up without looking at the caller ID
"Hello?" I asked into the speaker
"Uh hey Theo- look I'm kind of busy right now, could you pick Will up from school?" Zoe asked sounding out of breath
"Okay? But didn't he finish school like 2 hours ago?" I asked
"Yes. Just do it" Zoe said and hung up

"Theooo!" Will called as he ran towards me, his teacher walking behind him
"What's up buddy" I greeted as I ruffled his blonde curls, I noticed his teacher still standing there, I knew she wanted to talk to me
"Why don't you wait in the car yeah? I'll be right back" I said before walking towards his teacher I always forget her name

"Theodore? Right?" She asked
"Theo is okay"
"Well Theo it's not the first time this has happened. I'm slightly worried about Will's well being"
"There's nothing to worry about. Our parents can be very very ... forgettable" I said scratching my neck
"Interesting. I would still like to talk with them" Will's teacher said.

We said our goodbyes and I walked towards the truck to see Will's face squished against the window,
"Theooo! I have something for you" Will squealed in the passenger seat, how can he be so energetic? I could need some of that energy.

"That's for you" he said handing me a self made bracelet
"Now we are matching" he said smiling his two front teeth missing, showing me the same one on his arm,
"Thanks buddy" I said putting it on
