The weekend was over but I hadn't the force to get up and go to back to school, I just couldn't.

I also hadn't the strength to talk to Will how and ask how he's feeling - it was awfully quiet without him yelling and laughing around the house.

I had several missed calls from Imani Ezra both of them worrying about my whereabouts,
I even got a call from Mrs Jovita where I immediately picked up she was like the mother I never had so I thought it would be unfair if I would just ignore when she has already done so much for me and Will.

I told her about what happened and everything I found out, she told me that if I need anything I should just call her or even better visit her - which I will do very soon, I haven't seen her in a while.

I don't know what time it was but the sun was already setting when I heard a knock on my door,

"Theo?" Zoe asked trough my locked door
"Go away" I groaned into my pillow
"Okay but Ezra is here, he was worried about you and even brought you a meal"

I slowly got up and marched towards my door to unlock it
"What are you doing here?" I asked Ezra confused
"Making sure you eat" he said letting himself in.

Zoe smiled lightly before entering Wills room,
I ignored her gesture and closed the door.

"I'm not even going to ask if you're okay cuz obviously you're not" Ezra started as he unpacked two lunchboxes on my desk
"But as your homie I gotta make sure you get something nice in your tummy" he smiled sheepishly

"I'm not hungry" I grumbled as I plopped back on my bed
"Trust me after you see this you will, my moma cooked this I even helped cooking this, just for you man"
"I don't want your pity Ezra"

He sighed and stopped his movements
"I'm not pitying you Theo, to be honest I... you are the first person I actually trust, I feel like I can be myself around you, y'know"
"As corny as this sound i see you as my best friend my brother even, that's why I wanna make sure you're fine"

"Ezra you really don't have to do this - you are literally the only real friend I ever had in my 18 years of living" I said chuckling bitterly

"Aiight love you man" he said dapping me up
"Love you too man"

"Now you gotta taste this" Ezra said holding a lunchbox filled with mashed potatoes, steak, shrimps and vegetables on one side and one side with Mac N cheese and some chicken strips on the side,

"You're lying, you didn't cook this" I said not believing my eyes
"Of course I did, with the help of my mom of course" he said handing me a fork
"Looking delicious"
"Yup I know"

"Ughh I'm so full" I groaned placing the now empty lunchbox on my desk and falling on my bed again
"See, a nice dinner cheers everyone up" Ezra said getting comfortable on my bean bag

"Soo.. you wanna talk about it?"
"About what?"
"The reason why you haven't hit the showers in days"
"Shut up" I said chuckling

"No seriously, when was the last time you took a shower? You smell" Ezra said pinching his nose, laughing together,

Our laughters eventually quiet down and I thought about my mom again.

"My mom wrote me letters"
"Oh wow, isn't that something good?"
"I think so, the only problem I had no idea about them until last Friday"

"How come?"
"My father hid them from me"
"Damn that's fucked up" Ezra said quietly,

I got up to show him the last letter I received from my mom

"Y-you really want me to read this?" He asked unsure
"Yeah I trust you"
"Okay" he breathed out and started reading the letter

"I don't know if I should call-"
"Theo is you stupid or is you stupid, just call her!" Ezra almost yelled as he cut me off
"Don't you finally want to know who your real mom is? Why would you even think twice about it just do it"

It's easier said than done

"I'm afraid" I admitted timidly
"Don't be man, I mean she's your mom what's the worst that could happen?"

"Okay I will call her now" I said breathing out shakily,

I dial the number into my phone and pressed on call

It ringed a few times

'The number you're trying to reach is currently unavailable, please try again later'

It said and I hanged up.

"She didn't pick up?" Ezra asked
"The number is not available" I said feeling hopeless all of a sudden,

"What if I'm not meant to know my mom" I asked staring ahead of me
"Don't say that, you know it's not true. Maybe her phones not working or something"
"Yeah whatever"

"You want me to go or..."
I sighed rubbing my eyes
"Yeah and thanks Ezra"
"Your welcome" he said smiling.

He got up and walked towards my door before he turned around again
"Oh I almost forgot, Imani told me she wants you to call her back"

I groaned "I totally forgot about her"
"You forgot your girlfriend?" Ezra said holding back his laugh
"Shut up you dipshit, go home" I yelled throwing a pillow at him

"Just wanted to let you know that yo girl is pisseeeed" he sang laughing at me,

I got up from my bed and stormed towards him, Ezra started giggling and ran downstairs.
Chasing behind him I couldn't hold my laugh in any longer,

Ezra stormed out towards his car "Go take a shower!" He yelled

I showed him my middle finger standing in our doorway.
