"Look Theodore, I highly recommend you to also apply for colleges here. Even if you're very certain about studying abroad - having some sort of puffer wouldn't be too bad no?" Our school Counsellor Mr. Anderson said

"You could maybe even do your bachelors in France and apply for your masters somewhere here, only if you want of course" He adds and I thought about it for a while.

"Okay" I say shrugging

"Well that was easy" Mr. Anderson said chuckling surprised "Well looking at your grades these definitely won't be a problem for applying. I'm gonna give you a little homework okay?"

I nod in agreement,

"I got a few brochures here but I want you to do some research on more colleges you seem interested in. Yeah?" He explained handing me a few brochures

"Will do. But uh about my classes..." I start referring to my former question that even got me here

"Ah! yes right you wanted to visit the campuses in Paris right. I will inform your teachers about that so your missing classes can be excused" He said

I nod while I got up from the uncomfortable chair.

"So? You good to go?" Ezra asked who waited for me in the hallway
"Yup" I said popping the 'p'

"And let me guess, your misses doesn't know about it?" Ezra said with a knowing look on his face

"She doesn't know about it yet. Obviously I'm gonna tell her" I said correcting him
"It's just gonna be two weeks" I said shrugging

"If you say so" he said raising his hands in surrender

"Talking about colleges, would you do me a favour and go over my essay?" Ezra asked sounding unsure

"Of course, you can always ask me for help" I said
"Have you already applied to any colleges yet?" I ask

"No not yet, I had multiple scouts come up to me at our plays but I think I'm gonna go with UCLA or Kentucky"

"Wow that's impressive, they're both very known for having many NBA Players" I said thinking about an article I once read

"I know right, that's also making me kind of nervous not gonna lie" Ezra revealed

"Why?"

"Because they have pretty high expectations. Obviously I'm gonna start off as a rookie but still - it's kinda freaking me out" he explained

"Ezra, you're worrying you to much. Look, I haven't known you for long but I'm grateful for the time we've spent together. And if there's anyone on this planet earth who could succeed without even trying - it would be you. They all want you for a reason, Ezra" I said trying to encourage him

"Ew. Stop being so emotional, if want a motivational speech I would've simply talked with Mr. Anderson" Ezra said feigning disgust
"But thanks." He said avoiding eye contact, I chuckled at his response,
"Yeah whatever"

I got free period, knowing that Imani one too and was probably at the library, I decided to go there too.

It's been a while since I've been here. The library used to be my favourite hiding spot or perfect place to take a nap in. Walked further inside looking for my girlfriend when I found her sitting by herself concentrating on a task in front of her.

"Do you mind if I take a seat?" I asked causing Imani to look up from the sheet in front of her

"Theo? Uh yes sure!" She said making some space on the table, I dropped my bag and sat down manspreading as I leaned back on the chair crossing my arms over my chest.
