"How the hell do you even ask a girl out?!"
"You walk up to her and ask her out?"
"What?!"
"Yup it's that easy man"
"Imani deserves more than that"
"Can I remind you that it's just a date, not a proposal or anything"
"Shut up Ezra"

I was currently at Ezras place, after playing on his ps5 I asked him for advice on how I should ask Imani out. Since Ezra seems to be asking girls out 24/7 I thought

"I thought you needed my advice" Ezra said mockingly
"Your advice is not helpful" I grumbled,
he just shrugged eating a slice from the pizza we ordered.

"Well I get it. She's your special girl, you wanna make something special for her so you need something special to ask her out-"
"Are you making fun of me?" I asked crossing my arms
"Whaaat? No" he said in mock disbelief, I threw a pillow laughing when it hit his face.

"Boys!" Ezras mom called
"Keep the volume down or go outside"
"Sorry Mrs Harris" "sorry mom" we said a the same time,

"Ey Theo Let's go out then"
"Alright let's take your car I don't feel like driving right now" I said yawning and stretching myself.

I always enjoy late night drives by myself but I never thought that late night drives with Ezra could be so fun. We were joking around but also talking about serious things and stuff before we decided to do a quick stop at Walmart.

"You know what I hate about grocery shopping with my parents?" Ezra started
"No, what?"
"When they do this"
He walked in front of our still empty shopping cart and started pull at the shopping cart,
I laughed at this action 'cause I'm always doing it when I let Will push the shopping cart.

"Seriously?" I asked still laughing
"Yeah! That's fucking annoying they be acting like as if I don't know how to push a shopping cart - a freaking shopping cart"

"Almond milk" I read out loud, grabbing a pack of almond milk
"I still wonder how almond milk is made"
"Huh?" Ezra wondered dumping random snacks in our shopping cart
"I mean they can't just milk almonds or can they?" I asked seriously confused
"The hell is you talking about?"
"Almond milk" I stated
"All I know about that is that it tastes disgusting" Ezra answered,

I shrugged placing the milk back, until I heard an all to familiar laughter - it always makes my heart skip a beat.

I looked to my right making sure the person I've been avoiding the past few days isn't actually here. But to my luck she is.

"Holy fuck" I mumbled
"Let's Go!" I said quickly to Ezra
"What? Why? I'm not done yet"
"Doesn't matter but we have to go now!"
I kept looking back to make sure Imani and her friends didn't notice us yet.

"Hold on... is that the girl you're constantly talking about and want to ask her out?" Ezra asked grinning slightly,
I couldn't help but blush at his words
"Yes she is. And I've been ignoring her these past days, so I don't want her to see me"
"Aye man, I knew you were all shy and messy about your girl but-"
"Shit shit shit they are coming!" I whisper yelled
"You're here by yourself!" I told Ezra before hiding behind the next aisle.

I couldn't really hear what they were saying but I guess it's just random small talk.
I waited a little just looking around - I mean there isn't much to do when you're practically hiding.

"Theo?"
I swiftly turned around to see a surprised Imani in front of me
"What a coincidence" she chuckled, I noticed how Ezra was trying to hold in his laugh before he quickly disappeared.
Asshole.

"Uh guys I'll be right back" Imani said to her two friends I think Mei and Briana,
now it was just the two of us.

"Uh hey" I started lamely, she crossed her arms scowling at me
"Why are you ignoring me Theo?"
"I'm not"
"Yes you are!"
"Okay maybe" I admitted scratching my neck
"And why?" She asked
"Because..."
"Because?" She repeated,
I sighed

"Because I didn't know how... how to approach you after y'know"
"Aww Theo" she whined cutely before she hugged me.

"You are so sweet"
"Okay?"
She gave me a chaste kiss on my lips before backing up a little.

"Well my friends are waiting" she said pointing towards a different aisle
"Oh yeah right" I said quickly after composing myself - the simplest touch of her makes my mind go crazy.

"See you around then, and you better be answering my texts from now on"
"I will, don't worry"
"Alright bye" she said slowly walking away
"Uh wait!"
"Yes?" Imani asked turning around,
It's now or never.

"I want to see you again"
"We see each other at school everyday" she said chuckling
"I-I know but that's not what I meant"
"Oookay"
"I want to take you out on a date"
"Really?"
"Yeah" I said shyly
"God I thought you were never going to ask" Imani said relieved

"You-you we're waiting the whole time?"
"Yeah kind of, I waited because I want you to step out of your comfort zone" she admitted getting closer to me,
she softly tugged me at the hem of my shirt to pull me even closer.

We were so close our chests are almost touching, her fingers gently tracing across my jawline
"I hope you're not forgetting that we re currently at Walmart" I murmured
"I'm not - it's not like we are doing anything" she said below a whisper, I chuckled at this

"Why do I have this slight feeling that you like to tease me"
"Maybe cause I do" she replied, her hands moving from my jawline to my chest,
laughing lightly I placed my hands on her waist.
"Yeah I noticed"

"Uhm guys not to interrupt anything but we are at Walmart not in your bedroom or anything" Ezra said,
I gave Imani a quick kiss on her lips before letting her go
"I'll text you" I said
"Okay I will be waiting. Bye" she said to both of us.

I sighed feeling very much lightheaded from my encounter with Imani
"She's amazing" I said dreamily
"Maybe and you're totally whipped - Cmon let's get outta here" Ezra said pulling towards the cashier.
