Even though I have a new car now I still use my dad's old truck to get to school. I also didn't tell anyone.
It felt weird, and what felt even weirder was my mom sending me a big amount of money for various of things. I told her that I'm totally capable of taking care of myself but she doesn't listen.

I walked inside the school building to my locker to place my belongings in there. I typed in my code, opened it, only for a bucket of cold water to fall down landing directly on me.

I heard laughter and giggles and a few shocked gasps, I knew exactly who it that and I wasn't wrong. I turned around to see Peter and his hooligans having the fun of their life,

"Seriously Peter? Are you not a little bit too old to be pulling pranks like that?"

I pushed a few strands of my now wet hair back as Peter took long strides to stand in front of me.

"So? what are gonna do about it" He asks trying to be intimidating.

Before I was able to respond Ezra showed up standing next to me "How about you start taking a few steps back huh?"

"Or what?" Peter asks

"No seriously dude I can smell what you had for breakfast" I said pinching my nose together, Peters cheeks turned pink and he took a step back scoffing.

"Grow up Peter" I said dismissively as took the almost empty bucket of water and pushed towards peters chest so he had no other choice than to take it.

I removed my wet hoodie and placed it in my locker leaving me in my black T-shirt when Ezra spoke up again "Are gonna continue standing here?" He asks Peter who hasn't moved from his spot

"This is not over yet!" Peter said before hurriedly walking away

"Weird" I said out loud

"And he was your friend for how long again?" Ezra asked
"Shut up" I said laughing

Walking out of my first period I noticed Imani and another guy talking in the hallway.

I walked towards them making placing my hand on Imanis lower back as I greeted her by kissing her on the lips,
"Hey?" Imani greeted slightly confused
"Uh Miguel that's my boyfriend Theo, Theo that's Miguel" she said introducing us to each other.

I simply nod my head
"Are you new here?" I asked since I don't remember seeing that face ever before

"Yes, I switched schools" he said politely

"Why?" I asked out of curiosity but Imani nudged me and I shoot her a look that said 'what?'

"Anyways, Miguel offered to tutor me in Spanish" Imani said excitedly

"Tutor you? In Spanish?" I repeated

"Uhm yeah?" Imani answered dumbfounded, I removed my hand from Imanis lower back to cross both my arms over my chest,

"Why didn't you tell me you needed help with that?" I asked slightly hurt, before Imani could respond to my question Miguel decided to open that wide mouth of his.

"I think learning from a native speaker would be-"

"I'm sorry but I don't remember asking you" I said cutting him off
"Theo!" Imani whisper shouted at me "sorry about him, I will see you in class?" Imani said before dragging towards another direction. This Miguel guy just nods as he walks away.

"Theo! What has gotten into you?!" Imani asks

"What do you mean?" I ask

"You know exactly what I mean! Why were you being so rude to him?!" She asked

"Was I supposed to be nice to him?" I ask leaning down slightly towards her eye level

"Theo?... are you... jealous?" She asks hesitant and my eyes widen for a second, I straighten my back, back to my full height.

"No?" I said with a straight face

"Theo-" she starts, but I cut her off
" I could've helped you with your Spanish homework, Mi español es perfectamente bien!"

"Theo" she said smiling at me as she took my face in her small hands " -there is no reason for you to be jealous. I didn't tell you because I was embarrassed."

"I'm not jealous" I said removing her hands from my face,
"I'll see you at lunch" I said without kissing her goodbye. She was enjoying this to much so I purposely left without kissing her.

I usually don't eat in the cafeteria, but today it was a good idea I did. Ezra and Mateo went to Wendy's without me, I didn't tell them why I decided to eat at school today, because I know they would make fun of me.

I sat on Imanis right while he sat on her left,

" so guys, this is Miguel he's new here and I want you guys to be nice to him" she said introducing him to her girlfriends and eyed me when she talked about the 'being nice' part.

"How come you changed schools this close to graduation?" Brianna asked him

"Well I just moved here so I had no other choice" he said laughing a little

"Do you have a girlfriend?" Georgia asked as she twirled a strand of her hair in her finger causing Miguel to laugh

"No I don't have a girlfriend" he responds sheepishly
"What? But you're so handsome?!" Georgia added
"Thanks" I heard him say.

I took a spoon of the mashed potatoes and immediately had to spit it out, I reached for a tissue to spit whatever that just was out. We will never forgive you for this Michelle Obama...

"You good?" I heard Imani ask and I quickly nod my head
"Biggest mistake of my life" I said out loud showing the plate of food in front of me away. Imani started chuckling "here" she said handing me the other half of her sandwich
"Thank you" I said feeling my heart flutter.

"At what time do you think you're available?" I hear Miguel ask Imani

"Available? Available for what?" Georgia immediately asks

"Miguel will tutor me in Spanish" Imani said

"Because you're failing?" Brianna said at the same time Imani was shushing her

"You're failing in Spanish?" I asked surprised at the new information

"Bri! That was supposed to stay between us!" Imani said through clenched teeth

"Oh my gosh girl same I got a D in-" Georgia started to ramble but I blurred her voice out fully concentrating on Imani

"Why didn't you tell me?" I ask at the same time the others were asking here if she was okay and whatever

"Everyone stop!" Imani said loudly for the whole table to hear "It's really not that of big deal, seriously!" Imani said packing her lunch and leaving,

"Imani! Imani wait!" I called for her and quickly got up to jog after her.

We were in the hallway when I finally caught up with her, I reached for her arm but she quickly pulled it away.

"I didn't tell you because I was embarrassed okay!" She snapped "If it's not an A on your sheet it's an A+, I didn't want you to know that I'm stupid... that's why I didn't tell you" she explained much calmer now

"Imani, you're not stupid okay? And you said it yourself it's just Spanish. Right?" I tried to reason with her

"Now come here" I said opening my arms for a hug.
She lowered her head hugging me tight as I engulfed her like a teddy bear hug.

"I didn't know you speak Spanish too" she said her voice muffled

"You never asked" I said smiling lightly

"What else don't I know about you?" She asked looking up at me
"I don't know. What would you like to know?" I shot back looking down at her

"I don't know, everything maybe?" She joked
"Good thing we got plenty of time no?" I said leaning down to give her a kiss on her forehead.
