"What kind of pill?" I asked growing concerned
"Uhh"
"Mei, just tell me please!"
"Some sort of viagra or something like that" Mei answered

"At first we thought it wasn't working and then she suddenly left telling us she was going to look for you"

I placed my hands on my hips thinking about the situation,

"And how long are they going to last?" I asked Mei
"I don't know, I told her not to do it but Imani and Ashley are constantly competing against each other"

"Oh?" I didn't know that
"Yeah 'Oh' and I think you might be the reason why. Ashley said she doesn't mind you and Imani being together but I knew from the beginning she was lying about it"

"O-Oh wow"

"Anyways I'll see you around" Mei said walking away.

I went inside the cafeteria and immediately locked eyes with Imani, she smiled brightly when she saw me. I walked towards the table where She and her friends were eating and talking.

"Theo! Come sit" she said making some space next to her
"Can we talk?"

I don't know why but all of a sudden her friends started to glance at me, I just asked a simple question?

"Is-Is everything alright?" Imani asked carefully and then I got it. This what they always say before they break up in movies.

"What? Yeah of course! Why wouldn't it be" I said smiling a little to ease the tension, I held my hand out for her to take it which she gracefully did.

I was looking for a less crowded area where we could talk but Imani had other plans. She yanked me into the next storage room and locked it behind her.

"Imani I'm not going to make out with you" I said sternly
"What? Why?" She pouted
"Mei told me from the pill you took, that's why you're acting like that"
Imani lowered her head
"Why would you do that? You don't need to prove yourself to anyone Imani" I said taking both her hands in mine

"I don't know why I did that, I guess I wanted to prove them wrong" she said shrugging
"Them? Or do you mean Ashley?"

Imani's eyes widened a little
"How do you-"
"Mei told me" I told her
"Sometimes Ashley just gives me the ick so I wanted her to shut up and prove her wrong"
I softly tilted her head so she would look at me

"You don't need to prove anyone wrong" I said giving her a peck on the cheek
"Thank you Theo, I really needed that"
"Your welcome" I said smiling
"But"
"But what?" I asked
"I'm still turned on" she exposed gripping my hand a little tighter

"Oh I'm sure the effect will soon come to an end" I said placing a strand of her braided hair behind her ear,
"Nevermind forget I just said that"
She quickly let go of my hand, unlocked the door and rushed out.

"And then she just rushed out" I told Ezra, after school we went to my place to chill until the dinner with my mom.

"Theo you should know that it doesn't happen everyday that a girl openly and directly tells you she wants to have sex" Ezra explained and I scoffed
"She didn't tell me she wanted to have sex she said she was still turned on!"
"She was implying on it! And you reject her"
"But-"

Imani wanted to have sex?! Right then and there?!

"But at school?! In the storage room?!" I asked Ezra
"Oh Cmon Theo don't tell me you didn't know almost everyone does that"
They did?!
"Shit, you really didn't know?" Ezra said holding his laugh in
"Ezra that's not funny" I said feeling so stupid
"Okay okay, I'm sorry" he said calming down

"How can I make it up to her?" I asked anxiously
"Theo stop overthinking! She will eventually forget about it, so no need to worry"
"But-"
"No buts" Ezra cut me off "We are going to have dinner with your mom and everything will be fine"

Ezra, Will and I arrived at my moms apartment she rented for her stay, making sure to be a little bit earlier than the rest of our guests.

"Mom, this is Ezra. Ezra, this my mom"
"Good evening Mrs Hunt, it's nice to meet you" Ezra greeted shaking her hand
"No need to be so formal, just call me Rosá"
"You guys can help me set the table" she added quickly,
"Will do you want to help me in the kitchen?" My asked Will was already on his way inside the kitchen.

Just as Ezra and I finished setting the table Someone was ringing the doorbell.
"I'll get it" I shouted as I made my way towards the entry and opened the door, it was Mrs Jovita who brought her famous Mac and cheese

"Theo darling, how are you" she greeted hugging me
"All good" I said "here let me help you"
I took the mac and cheese and helped her with her coat.
"Ahh you must be Mrs Jovita" my mom said happily "Theo told me so much about you, and I don't even know how to thank you for helping him throughout his life" my mom said getting a little emotional
"There's no need to thank me, Theo has always been very respectful and I took care for him like he was my own son"

I smiled awkwardly as I watched the scene unfold my mom gave Mrs Jovita a hug and they started to completely forget about me.
The doorbell ringed again
"I got it" I said quickly and placed the mac and cheese on the counter and almost ran to the door.

I already knew it was Imani but her presence seems to surprise me everyday,
"Hey" she greeted softly and I almost didn't hear what she said, I was too lost taking in her appearance
"You look very lovely"
"Thank you, you look quite handsome as well" she said chuckling
"Soo are you gonna let me inside or?"
"Y-yeah of course, sorry" I said stepping to the side

"Mon dieu Theo! You didn't tell me your girlfriend is so beautiful"
"Good evening Mrs Hunt I'm I-" before Imani could finish her sentence my mom already engulfed her into a hug,
"There's absolutely no need to be so formal call me Rosá, okay"
"Uh yes of course" Imani said slightly surprised
"Now both of you get seated at the table I will be right with you" My mom said ushering us towards the dining area.

"I like your mom, and you definitely have her eyes"
I chuckled "you think so?"
"I don't think so I know so" Imani said laughing a little,

I took the chair out for her making sure she's all comfortable.

Dinner was finally served and I don't think I've ever eaten something this good, we talked and laughed a lot. It was nice to see how everyone got along. I always dreamed of such happy moments as a child, having dinner with friends and family and just enjoying the time together.

"The food was unbelievingly delicious Rosá, in my opening you can invite me over for dinner at any time" Ezra joked
"The door is always open for all of you. It was very nice to meet you Ezra" my mom said hugging Ezra goodbye

"I agree" Mrs Jovita chirped in also hugging my mom goodbye "we definitely have to spend some time together before your departure"
"Of course Daniela, will do"

"It's was a very nice dinner Rosá" Imani said
"To bad it had to end so soon" she added
"We will definitely redo this" my mom said happily hugging Imani goodbye

"I will see you tomorrow at school" I said before giving her a peck on the cheek.

"Shouldn't you be at home by now?" My asked as we loaded the dishwasher
"Nahh I texted Zoe it was going to be late and... I don't know maybe... maybe Will and I could stay the night?" I asked calmly but my heart was racing
"I mean Will is already knocked out on the couch so?" I added quickly

"Of course you can stay the night" my mom said happily.

We finished cleaning the dining area and kitchen and mom showed me where Will and would be sleeping tonight.
It was a spare bedroom with a large double bed, dresser and table inside, resembling a hotel room.

I carefully placed Will on the bed tucking his small body into the blankets,
"If you need anything I'm right next door" my mom said
"Alright, Goodnight mom"
"Bonne nuit mon bébé"
