I tried to hold back a smile as I glanced at the familiar face in front of me. I'd seen him on TV and movie screens all my life, but he was even more handsome in person. My heart fluttered at the sight of him. Evan Peters. My childhood crush, but that was from years ago. If I were my younger self I would've passed out and made a fool of myself by now.
He glanced in my direction a few times, smiling his adorable dimpled smile. He was as handsome as I remembered, if not more. I looked back down to my book and began to read again. He was human just like me, I didn't see the need in fangirling as I used to.
I looked up went to reach for my frappe after reading a few pages and realized that he had left. I sighed as I looked around the room. He was nowhere to be found. I took a sip of my frappe and went back to reading.
"Seems like a good book, " a voice spooked me, "What's it about?"
I looked up and to my surprise, it was him. He was talking to me.
"Oh, it is, " I smiled, "It's a horror about a girl who gets trapped in a different parallel universe, and now she has to find a way out."
"Nice, " Evan said as he pulled out a chair beside me, "You seem really into it. I'm guessing you like to read a lot."
"I love reading, it's my escape from all the bullshit in the world, " I nod at him.
"Well it seems like you're the right person to ask, " he chuckled to himself, "I'm trying to get back into reading as a fun little hobby. What books would you recommend?"
I closed my book.
"It depends what genre most excites you, " I asked him.
"I don't know, " he shrugged, "Romantic comedies are my weakness, I guess. What about you?"
"I'm a horror fiend, " I said excitedly, "Horrors, thrillers, mysteries...anything that'll scare you into lying awake at night."
"I'm guessing you watching horror shows too, " He asked.
"Of course, " I smiled, "I love them. You're amazing in American Horror Story, by the way. There's so much raw emotion and passion when you're on screen. Great job."
I opened my book and flipped back to the page where I was originally.
"So you know who I am, " Evan smiled.
"Ever since I was a child, " I nodded as I continued to skim across the pages, "Phil of the Future, Sleepover, Adult World, Kick-Ass...anything you've starred in I've seen it. Not to be weird or anything. I just had a major crush on you when I was younger. You know a teenage dream."
"Oh, " Evan nodded, "I can't say that I'm not intrigued."
I looked over at him. He had gotten closer.
"I know, " I chuckled, "It's embarrassing, but who has had a silly childhood crush in their fantasies."
"True that, " Evan laughed, "Tell me what did you like to fantasize about?"
I smiled to myself as I reminisced on the imaginations I'd come up with in my head.
"It was pretty cliche if I'm being honest, " I began, "It was simple stuff. I'd imagine us walking on the beach hand in hand and having a picnic as we watched the sunset, walking around the city as we looked at the beautiful lights, going out to eat at a fancy restaurant. Stuff like that."
I shook my head in embarrassment. Evan smiled at how timid I had become.
"I think that's cute, he smirked, "I have an idea. How about we live out those fantasies tonight?"
I raised an eyebrow at him.
"You're kidding, right, " I asked nervously.
"Why would I be, " Evan smiled as he stood up and glanced at his phone, "It's 10 in the morning, we've got the whole day ahead of us. You don't have any plans, do you?"
I was free all day. I planned to spend my day all alone reading in this cozy bookstore, but when your celebrity crush asks you to spend the day with them, you do not say no. This was something I had only dreamed about...and read fanfics about.
"I'm free all day, actually, " I answered.
"Great, " Evan said as he handed me his phone, "I need your number, so we can catch up later on. I have to go in a few."
I nodded my head as I entered my number into his phone and handed it back to him.
"Y/n, nice," Evan bit his lip as he read the name on his screen, "I'll call you later after I'm done. It was great meeting you, Y/n."
He shot me a wink as he turned around and headed in the other direction. Something told me that the younger me had just exploded into pieces and I didn't blame her.
