The atmosphere in the house had been different and concerned me, but Kai seemed more cheerful than ordinary. Yesterday, someone challenged his thoughts during a meeting, and he didn't go on a rampage. Instead, he suggested all members spend today off. It shocked everyone, especially the disobedient member. He even pardoned Beverly for the day. Of course, other members had to keep a close eye on her.
The basement of the Anderson house was empty, and there was no sign of Kai; I assumed he was still asleep and went back upstairs to the kitchen to make him breakfast for the day. He was usually awake around this hour, but I guessed he had taken today as a lazy day along with the others. He deserved it with all the hard work he had done; he was the one who needed a break, not the others.
I expected breakfast to take less time, but I couldn't complain as time and effort showed how much I cared. Footsteps echoed throughout the room as a half-awake Kai entered. I tried not to stare at him as he was shirtless, and once again, those dirty thoughts possessed me; they'd worsened since Kai and I's last encounter of being in a room alone together. Not only did he have the mindset of a God, but he had the body of one. He hadn't greeted me, and I dared not speak to him without permission as he grabbed a bottle of juice from the fridge.
"Y/n, come here," Kai instructed.
Kai only had to ask me to do something once, and I would do it. I walked toward him and was taken aback as he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me to his side. His tired eyes stared into mine as he towered over me. He smirked as he looked down at me- I admit it was hard not to lose it whenever I was this close to him, especially in times like this. Kai had stubble on his face since he hadn't shaved yet, but he still looked so maintained; his hair was messy but not wild. He looked like he woke up in a movie scene.
"Good morning, dear leader," I spoke to him.
"Good morning, little lamb. Why are you here," Kai questioned.
My head tilted as I tried to understand his question. I was always here. I've never missed one day of being at the Anderson house, not since I joined the family- and that meant a lot since I lived a couple of minutes away. Every morning, I'd get up, get ready, and head over here to make sure I could be the best little lamb I could be for him.
"I don't mean to sound rude, but I'm always here. There's never a time when I'm not," I answered.
"I told everyone to take a break and spend the day relaxing. But it's 11 AM, and you're here. Although I did expect you to be here," he chuckled.
He held the cold bottle toward me, and I promptly twisted the cap open for him. Kai snickered as he placed the bottle on a nearby counter and grabbed the other side of my waist, pulling me to his chest. He always smelled so nice whenever we were this close, but I expected nothing more than someone as distinguished as himself. His skin was softer than usual, but I suggested he stop using 2-in-1 body washes and Axe; he switched to Dove Men earlier in the year and has been his best since.
"You'd rebuild the White House if I asked you to. Huh," Kai joked.
"If that's what you wish," I replied.
"You're the perfect woman, little lamb. You know that right," he flattered.
Commendations weren't typical of him, but ever since he showed me how much he appreciated me a few days prior since then, they were more common. It left every member of the family astounded every time. His actions had been unusual lately. Worried, I placed my hand on his forehead to check if it was warm. Usually, people change out of nowhere because they are sick and having a 'change of heart,' I had become fearful of his actions.
"Little Lamb, what are you doing," he questioned.
"I'm checking to see if you're well. I can pick up any medicines you need. I won't tell the others," I informed him.
