Imagine- After the death of your parents, you were adopted and raised by Sister Jude, since before you could walk, all you knew were the people and patients of Briarcliff. It was your home. You never wanted to leave until you met someone who wanted to get out and escape with you...
"What I'm trying to say is that you COULD decrease the amount of flour you put in the banana bread," I argued with the brown-eyed nun before me, "But at what cost?"
The older woman shook her head, "Are you done with your little speech, Y/n," Sister Jude asked exhausted.
"Well no, you still haven't answered my other questions-"
She quickly cut me off and motioned for one of her male nurses to come over, "Please take her to the common room before I have to be a patient," she instructed them.
"No problem," a woman quickly responded as she grabbed my arm and pulled me in the opposite direction of Jude.
"I think you annoyed her this time," she chuckled as she led me to the common room, "You know how she feels about her bread."
"It was constructive criticism," I sighed and folded my arms, "As much as she criticizes everyone else in the asylum, you'd think she'd be able to handle some herself."
"Y/n, I've got to go help the doctor," she said as she stopped in front of the room, "I'd trust that you'd stop trying to irritate your mother."
"Fine," I rolled my eyes. "Thank you," she smiled as she began to walk away.
I walked through the door and I was instantly greeted with warm smiles and greeted by all the other patients. My family. Pepper was playing and dancing around by the record player next to my short-haired friend, Grace who was sitting down by a man that I had never seen before in all of my 19 years living here.
The handsome man sat by a window on the side of the room, tapping his foot. The man's brown eyes examined the room for a few seconds until he brought his attention to me. He was a very handsome man. His brown hair was styled perfectly as if he had just had it professionally done. His eyes were like pools of chocolate and I found myself drowning in them. He broke his gaze to say something to Grace.
"This is Y/n. Y/n Martin," Grace said as she introduced me to the man, "and Y/n this is Kit. Kit Walker."
I held out my hand for him to grab and shake, "Nice to meet you, Kit," I greeted him. He was the most gorgeous man I'd ever seen.
He grabbed my hand and slowly shook it, "The pleasure is all mine," he smiled as he let go of my hand.
"I'm on kitchen duty today," Grace said as she got up from where she was sitting, "I'll talk to you two later."
Kit and I watched as she hurriedly exited the room. The two of us sat in awkward silence for a few minutes waiting for the other to start a conversation.
"Y/n," the man said out loud," that's a beautiful name you have, Darling. It fits your face." He said as he stared into my eyes. He eventually broke his gaze to look at my outfit. "So I don't know whether I should ask whether you work here or how long have you been admitted here?"
I looked down at my outfit. I was wearing the top half of a nun dress for a top and the patient's pants for my bottoms. My mother Jude hates the way I dress, but she claimed she knows how it feels to want to be and express yourself.
"Well, actually you could ask me both," I shrugged, "I was born and raised within these walls. Everyone here is my family." I sat down in the spot where Grace once sat.
"Really," he questioned, "So you've never left this building? Like at all?"
"Nope. I've never felt the need to," I smiled as Pepper made her way over to the both of us and I hugged her," "Everything I need is right here."
The handsome man scooted closer to me, "You're telling me you never wanted to escape? Go and see the outside world? Go on a date? Ride in a car? Go and attend the fair? The freak show?"
Pepper smiled to herself as she looked down and walked back to the record player. I watched as she began to dance again.
Kit grabbed my chin and turned my face to his, "Darling, I don't belong here and neither do you. I'm gonna escape and when I do I want you to go with me! Do you wanna go with me?" He handed me a book with pictures of all these beautiful places outside of the asylum walls as he let go of my face.
I looked through the pages and then back up at him. Would I leave all my family and friends to go and run off with a random man I just met in the Asylum?
"What do you say?" He smiled at me.
"I-," I began to speak but was interrupted by my mother's scream.
"Get away from my daughter, you murderer," I looked at her and she pointed to Kit, "Orderly take Bloody Face to my office."
"What," Kit and I both gasped.
"Your her daughter," he said shocked.
"You're Bloody Face," I responded."No, I'm not," Kit said as the male nurse grabbed him and began dragging him out of the room. He started screaming, "It's not me, Y/n, they got the wrong guy. I promise I'm innocent. I'd never hurt anyone, I'd never hurt my wife."
"Your wife," I gasped as I ran by my mother's side.
"I want you to stay as far away from him, Y/n," Mother Jude instructed me, "He is a dangerous man and is not to be trusted. He could hurt you." I nodded my head.
"Yes, mother," I sighed as I looked away from her and sat back in my seat.
The man I had just met, the man who captivated me, the man who wanted to run away with me was the notorious Bloody Face. A serial killer...or that's what everyone wants me to think.
