So... what happened? Midoriya, his arms wrapped around the unconscious woman as he carries her back to camp, doesn't pause or even slow at my question.

"What do you mean?" He asks, though he is extremely wary of our surroundings and clearly not in the mood for a conversation.

That's strange, the other Midoriya never shut up...

How did Japan crumble?

"You really don't know? Have you been living under a rock for the past few years?"

Something like that.

"Look, I'll explain everything back at camp. But right now, we have to remain vigilant. It's dangerous out here." I can feel what he means. My mind may be relatively silent, with only my own and Midoriya's thoughts, but it still feels like someone is watching us. I follow him through the vague path, likely carved by many patrols. We finally come to a former skyscraper, which only has a couple of stories remaining. Midoriya pushes open the door with his foot, motioning with his head for me to follow. I comply, unsure what else to do. Inside is run down; definitely not livable.

I'm glad we made it back safely. I haven't been out that long in a while. Midoriya sighs, relieved. He effortlessly kicks a rock aside, revealing a staircase for us to follow. I put the rock back once we're below, assuming that he only didn't because of his hands being full.

"Deku! Where have you been? It's dangerous to stay out that long!" I finch as a notice Uraraka. Her appearance hasn't changed much- she has shorter hair and a few scars- but the same cheery eyes and rosy cheeks. It's impressive how happy she seems as she leans on crutches, her left leg stopping at her knee and hanging uselessly. "I should've gone with you," she pouts, causing Midoriya to shake his head as he sits the woman down.

"No. It's too dangerous, you know that." Uraraka puffs her lip and crosses her arms, but she doesn't argue. Midoriya breathes out his nose, smiling gently as he places a hand on her hair, kissing her forehead gently. "Just stay where it's safe, please." Uraraka nods, peeking around Midoriya's shoulder and noticing me.

"Hi! What's your name? I'm Uraraka Ochaco!" The brunette smiles at me, tilting her head to see around Midoriya better.

Saiki Kusuo, I answer.

"It's about time you got back," an old voice grumbles, causing Midoriya to finally remind me of his past self. He immediately shakes a bit in fear, scratching his head.

"Sorry, I found her pretty far out. I couldn't leave her!" Recovery Girl huffs, pulling a step stool out to check the woman over. Recovery Girl hasn't changed a bit. She seems more tired, a bit aged, but other than that she's the same.

"She seems fine, why is she unconscious?"

"Oh, Saiki here healed her, I think she's passed out from the pain," Midoriya explains. Recovery Girl narrows her eyes, nearly teleporting in front of me. I take a step back, terrified for my life as she leans toward me, her eyes just below mine as she stands on Uraraka's bed.

"You better not steal my job, bucko."

"Obasan! We need all of the help we can get!" Midoriya protests, shooing her away from me. She shrugs, returning to her work.

"A youthful quirk doesn't mean experience anyway," She gripes. Midoriya sighs in relief, Uraraka chuckles. I can't help but be glad that Recovery Girl is still her old self.

"Sit down, I'll explain what I know," Midoriya motions to a nearby chair, taking a seat next to Uraraka, who is resting on her bed. He places a hand on her left thigh, lightly tracing circles in it with his thumb. She lays her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes with content. "A couple of years ago, a friend of mine went on a rampage. His quirk is destructive; he teamed up with villains and eventually made his way to the top. Since we were kids, he idolized this stranger- we were almost hit by a truck and the guy saved us. I was thankful to him, but my friend was obsessive. He wanted to be just as strong as him. Since we were kids and the guy disappeared without telling us as much as a name, he had assumed he was a villain. I've tried to reason with him, but he had already painted a picture of the guy. I'm quirkless- what else was I supposed to do?"

"Stop blaming yourself, Deku," Uraraka looks up at the greenette, kissing his cheek. "It wasn't your fault. King Explosion Murder was destined to become like this."

Bakugo would never! I stand up abruptly, causing the two to jump in surprise. Midoriya narrows his eyes, standing up as well and stepping so he's only a couple of inches away. He's not much taller than me, but he's more intimidating than he has any right to be.

Shit.

"I never said his name. That begs the question: who the hell are you, Saiki Kusuo?" I stand my ground, though I'm unsure whether or not to answer truthfully.

He'll think I'm lying anyway.

I'm a psychic from a different universe. I came here and entered UA; we were in the same class. That's how I know your and Bakugo's name. I can't always control my powers, and I accidentally time-traveled one night. When I tried to go back to the future, I ended up here. Midoriya studies me, his eyes suddenly wide in disbelief.

"You're the one who saved us!" I nod, unable to deny that fact.

So this is all my fault.

"Hey, wait a minute! If you're from an alternate future, you knew we weren't supposed to be dead. You did what you thought was right," Midoriya quickly realizes, his eyes bright with excitement. "You have to talk to him. You're the only one he'll listen to!"

He took that better than expected. I guess that makes sense; the plot needs him to be understanding.

Do you know how to get to him? Midoriya nods, determination on his face.

"In the center of this hell is his "palace". We'll have to get through a lot of villains."

That won't be a problem.
