As darkness suffocates the forest, few remain awake, lurking, waiting in the shadows.

"I do not like this. It's so not cute!" Toga complains, speaking through a mask that sits tight to her face.

"They were engineered for the black market from what I hear. You should be worried that they work, not that they look pretty."

"I'm just saying they could be a little more stylish. Is that too much to ask?" She complains, waving her arms in a small tantrum.

"Style can take away from ingenuity," Kusuke shrugs, tapping his headpiece. "Do you really think I like wearing this thing? Just be happy that I was able to make smaller versions for you guys."

"Yeah, why do we even need this thing?" Toga questions, reaching for her earpiece. Kusuke quickly reaches forward, grabbing her wrist.

"Don't. Touch." He growls, narrowing his eyes in annoyance. "Unless you want to be found out."

"Hi, darlings, sorry to keep you waiting!"

"Get to work, get to work!" Kusuke lets go of Toga's hand, eyeing her to ensure that she doesn't do anything stupid. The pair joins the rest, peering over the cliff before them.

"That makes eight of us," Dabi informs, sighing in annoyance that not everyone is here yet.

"I don't care, just let me loose! I'm too pumped up to stand by!"

"Shut your mouth, you crazy bastard," Dabi scoffs, glancing at the man behind him. "We wait. We're still expecting four more people to join our little party. The League of Villains made a mistake going after them with a bunch of random thugs in the USJ. Better to use a small group of elites. The first thing we have to do is take away their sense of peace and show them that their lives rest in our hands."

After a long day of training, we once again are forced to cook for ourselves. And even better, earlier we were told that we would be playing some sort of game.

Can't wait. I sigh to myself, using telekinesis to chop the vegetables immediately. Bakugo is beside me, expertly chopping food, his face calm as he does so.

"Woah, Bakugo! You're really good with that knife! It's weird..." Uraraka compliments, leaning in slightly to watch. Bakugo speeds up, his brow furrowing in frustration as he turns to her, not paying attention but still cutting with ease.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S WEIRD? HOW CAN YOU PEOPLE BE SO DAMN BAD AT EVERYTHING?" He yells, ignoring Kaminari's snarky remark about him not blowing anything up. I chuckle at his anger, finishing my job and teleporting to a nearby seat.

"Saiki, what are you doing? Why aren't you helping?" Iida asks me, chopping the air as he does so. I roll my eyes, tearing my gaze off of Bakugo and turning to the boy beside me.

I finished my job, and there are no jobs left.

"There must be something you can do!" Iida proclaims, jerking his head to look around. "Hmm... why don't you help Midoriya! I'm sure he'd appreciate it!" Before I can complain he's gone, speeding off to yell at some other unfortunate soul. I get to my feet and walk over to Midoriya, standing behind him as he places wood into the stove. I use my telekinesis to move the logs to the correct place, then light them on fire.

"Oh, hi, Saiki." Midoriya smiles, standing up. "You must be really bored, sorry about that." The greenette scratches the back of his neck, tilting his head a bit as he remembers how easily Saiki dodged every single attack in a five on one fight.

At least you make it a bit interesting, I shrug, placing my hands in my pockets. Your plans may have worked if I couldn't read your mind. Midoriya smiles, placing a pot over the heat to start the stew.

"I don't think anyone could defeat you, even if you couldn't read their minds." He says, watching as the pot's contents begin to boil.

I wonder how All Might would help Kota... I ignore his thoughts, not really in the mood to talk to the greenette.

"Hey, you know Kota, don't you?" Midoriya asks, watching for my reaction. I mentally sigh, knowing I can't just walk away now.

Yeah. But I don't think there's much you can say to get him to change his mind.

"He seems to like you; how did you manage that?"

I'm not completely sure, honestly. Kids tend to like me for some reason.

"You must've said something though, right?"

Not really. Maybe he's more drawn to me because I don't really want to be a hero.

"You don't?" Midoriya gasps, his mind racing with confusion.

My mom forced me into UA, I'm bad with people, and the first pro hero I met was Big Lick. Being a hero was never first on my list of career paths.

"I guess that makes sense," Midoriya nods, stirring the pot. "You said "was never". Has that changed? Even a little bit?"

I'm... not really sure. I mumble, glancing at Bakugo. There are some people I'd save, sure, but I don't want to be in the spotlight. I just want to be average. I explain, slightly annoyed that I'm opening up this much to Midoriya. The boy nods, not quite understanding but really trying to. But that's probably why Kota likes me. I finish, bringing us back to the original topic.

"I just want him to see that heroes aren't always a bad thing."

Then show him that. Don't just tell him. Midoriya nods, a little more hopeful with that advice.

"You're right. Thanks, Saiki." I nod, taking the end of the conversation as a chance to escape and go stand by Bakugo.

Do you need any help? I ask, peering over his shoulder.

"Nah, I'm almost done." The blonde smirks, burning through the potatoes like a maniac.

I can do this in an instant.

"I'm really fine. But thank you."

"Woah, did Bakugo just say "thank you"? It even sounded genuine!" Kirishima gasps, turning around from his station in front of us.

"SHUT UP, SHITTY HAIR!" Bakugo yells, nearly jumping over the countertop in anger.
