With the Indian summer upon us, I was sweating more. The baby book said pregnancy causes hot flashes. No shit. I turned on the air and froze Elias.

"It's September, and I'm wearing a winter coat and gloves." Elias held up his hands.

"I can't help it if the house is boiling." I opened up the fridge and stood in front of it.

"The house is fifty degrees."

"Not to me, it isn't."

Someone knocked on the door, and Elias answered it. He returned with Owen.

"Why the hell is it freezing in here? I need a parka." Owen rubbed his arms.

"Pregnancy causes hot flashes," Elias said.

"That makes sense. Wendy is trying to freeze me out at home. I have to wear my thermals to bed."

Elias chuckled. I closed the fridge, then handed Owen a blanket.

He wrapped it around him. "Thanks."

"What brings you by in our neck of the woods?"

"Oliver is driving me nuts. He wants to officiate his wedding."

"Can a minister officiate their wedding?" I asked.

"I doubt it. But Oliver's trying like hell. Dad told him no."

Elias chuckled.

"I hate wedding planning. I hated it when I had to do it."

"Yeah, but it's a magical day with love and romance."

Elias and Owen arched their brows at me.

I rolled my eyes. "I blame the pregnancy. The baby makes me romantic."

"Okay, then." Owen shocked his head.

"Did you find an office building?" Elias asked.

"Yes! That's why I came over! Thanks for the reminder. I knew I came here for a reason."

"Are you sure you're not pregnant?"

"Don't make me bitch slap you!"

Elias gave Owen a look.

"I have a ton of shit happening. I'm going to forget details."

"I'm going to beat you over the head. How the hell do you forget about an office building? It's a structure that holds furniture and file cabinets."

"Make love, not war," I said.

Owen and Elias glanced at me.

"Ignore me."

"How about you soak in a bath with candles and mood music?"

"You read my mind." I smiled and left the kitchen.

I shook my head. My wife is a nut.

"Is Tori okay?"

"Yeah, why?"

"She seems like she's living Valentine's Day every single day."

"My wife has been moody and wants romance all the time. Tori isn't romantic."

"Well, people change."

"I caught her wearing heels and a frilly pink dress."

"Okay, people don't change that much. Tori likes to converse and dirt."
