EXT. YOYOGI PARK — THE AFTERNOON

Despite the sun's high placement in the sky, the temperature remains at a an acceptable temperature of 26°C. The people are participating in three main activities: exercising, canoeing, and picnicking.

KOYAMA TSURU's bangs fall slightly onto her eyelids, and she gently brushes them away for the sake of her eyesight. Although, the brunette wished she'd be temporarily blind. A couple feet in front of KOYAMA, her sister and her sister's fiancé were making eyes at each other.

KOYAMA
(Annoyed)
Why am I even here?

K. CHO
Would you rather be
alone in the apartment
right now? No food?
No company?

KOYAMA
I don't mind being alone,
but you're right,
I want food.

K. CHO
That's what I thought.

KOYAMA
(Whispers).
But, this is really
awkward! I'm literally
crashing my sister's date.

K. CHO
I mean...yeah—

IIZUNA
It can't be helped.
We can't leave you alone
in the apartment.

KOYAMA
I'm not a kid though,
I can take care of myself.

An awkward silence settled between them. As if in slow motion, cherry blossom petals fall from the breeze shaken trees, and KOYAMA places her full attention to her surroundings. The couple in front of her, watch her in amusement.

KOYAMA TSURU's lips lift into a small smile, but her eyes look downcast.

IIZUNA
I'm working out something
with a friend, and if he
agrees to meet up with me
in a few days, you'll be
able to move closer to the
location of your dream school.

KOYAMA
(Apprehensive)
you're sending me
to live with a
stranger?!

IIZUNA
Technically he's not
a stranger.

KOYAMA
(Amused)
To me, he is!

IIZUNA
Okay, valid point.
Though, I assure you
he's someone trustworthy,
he was my former volleyball
teammate.

KOYOMA
I mean, I trust your
judgment Iizuna-San,
but I still don't think
I would be comfortable
living with a guy I don't
know.

IIZUNA
(Pulls up an image of
Sakusa, and hands his phone
to KOYAMA).

KOYOMA
(Blank expression).
Oh no,
he's cute.

KOYOMA
THAT MAKES IT WORSE!
(Pulls her cheeks down
with the palms of her
hands).

IIZUNA
(Sweat drops).
So, is that a no?

KOYOMA
I—

KOYOMA
Well...let
me think
about it.

IIZUNA
No worries,
take your time.
No more than a week
though, because
school starts soon
and then you'll be
panicking about
transportation.

K. CHO
(Smacks Iizuna
upside the head).
Dude, no pressure!
Don't listen to him
Tsu-Chan.

IIZUNA
(Slowly turns his head
to look at Cho).
That actually hurt!

K. CHO
(Gasps).
I'M SORRY!

KOYOMA
(Smiles).
Enough about me.
Why don't you two love
birds go and find
a nice food stand?

KOYOMA
I'll look for a nice spot
to set up our picnic.
Text me when you guys
are done and I'll give
you guys directions.

K. CHO
I can stay with
you—

KOYOMA
Nah.

IIZUNA
Alright! We'll be
back in a bit!

KOYAMA watched them as they started to talk amongst themselves, with a sigh, her body relaxed, and her thoughts became a jumbled mess.

It wasn't that she didn't appreciate IIZUNA's gesture, it was more the fact that she didn't want to become a burden to anyone else.

A roommate? What good could that bring her? She'd heard plenty roommate horror stories to believe that living with one would be a nightmare.

Now, it looked like it would turn into her reality, but she had to keep the benefit of the doubt, and hope this guy was nice, or all would go down the drain.
