INT. PANCAKE FOOD BAR — NIGHT

KOYAMA had finished her meal and excused herself as she made her way to restroom, not soon after, KUROO stood up from his seat and also excused himself.

The copper haired brunet sitting next to SAKUSA sighed. This caught SAKUSA's attention, and the raven wondered what had stumped his cousin's mood.

KOMORI
Sakusa, have you
been listening to anything
I've been saying for the
last twenty minutes?

SAKUSA
You were just talking
about how confused you
are. Does your crush like
you or hate you? And why
are you suddenly asking
me that?
(furrows eyebrows).

KOMORI
Oh (surprise)
So, you were listening!

KOMORI
Your eyes kept trailing
elsewhere, so I
thought otherwise.

SAKUSA
It just looked like
Tsukishima was making
Koyama-San uncomfortable.

KOMORI
Well, staring and not
doing anything isn't
going to help anyway.

SAKUSA
(Groans).
I didn't think
you'd lecture
me today.

KOMORI
(Offended)
I'm not lecturing you!
I'm just trying to
help you out.

SAKUSA
(Perplexed)
With what?

HINATA
That's unlike you
Omi-San.

KAGEYAMA
(Confused stare).

SAKUSA
I have no idea
what you two are
on right now.

KOMORI
Let him be Hinata.
This guy can be pretty
oblivious when it doesn't
concern volleyball.

KAGEYAMA
Sounds like someone
I know.

HINATA
Oh, you're one
to talk Bakageyama.

SAKUSA
(Looks at Komori
with a knowing
look).

KOMORI
(Returns the
knowing look).

HINATA
(Scrunches up his
nose and places a
hand under his chin).

HINATA
So, Sakusa-San, you
said that Koyama-San
just moved to Tokyo
right? But, I've seen
her before.

SAKUSA
She's from Miyagi,
so, maybe you have
seen her before.

HINATA
Really?

SAKUSA
(Nods).

HINATA
(Excited)
cool!

INT. RESTROOM HALLWAY — NIGHT

KOYAMA and KUROO awkwardly step out of their respective restrooms. A couple passerby's sense the tension surrounding the strangers and decide to walk around them.

KOYAMA
This is...

KUROO
...weird, I know.

KOYAMA
I'll go first—

KUROO
(Disappointed)
Wait, Koyama,
I need you to
know the reasons.

KOYAMA
And you think this is
the right place for
that? (Laughs).

KUROO
No, it isn't, but
I need to get this
off of my chest.

KUROO
At the time, I didn't
have the right mindset.
Yet, I decided
to go out with you,
because I genuinely
liked you.

KUROO
(Upset)
But I couldn't keep
fooling myself, and
denying you from
having the freedom
you deserved.

KUROO
Due to my own guilt,
and fear of confrontation,
I played a totally different
card and cheated.

KOYAMA
I would have let you go
if you had only told me
the truth. The break up
wouldn't have hurt any less,
but at least you wouldn't have
made me question my own self-
worth.

KOYAMA
Does Kenma know?
Does he know that
you cheated on me
with my best friend?

KUROO
(Ashamed)
Of course he does,
he's my best friend,
and I love him enough
to let him choose to
stay with me
or let go.

KUROO
(Guilty)
I'm sorry,
for everything.

KUROO
I'm sorry I wasn't honest
with you from the very
beginning.

KOYAMA
(Shaky)
K-Kuroo, you didn't have
to l-lie about your state
of confusion. You shut me
o-out and now we're here.

KOYAMA
I understand, and I accept
your apology, because I don't
want to resent you any longer,
but please refrain from
talking to me for a while.

KUROO
B—

KOYAMA
(Inhales).
Please.

KUROO
Just, one question.

KOYAMA
(Groan).
Fine.

KUROO
Could we...still be
friends?

KOYAMA
I don't know.

KOYAMA
I'm leaving.

KUROO stared after KOYAMA's retreating figure.

The residues of love that reside in KOYAMA's heart are extinguished; and the friendship between the former lovers has come to an end.
