INT. SAKUSA — KOYAMA APARTMENT — NIGHT

The door opens to reveal SAKUSA and KOMORI, as they take off their shoes, the faint sound of music reaches their ears. KOMORI glances at SAKUSA, and he can already see his frustration meter combusting. The copper haired male chuckles sheepishly, but SAKUSA glares at him for trying to ease the tension in such an unhelpful way.

Suddenly, the music stops, and their faces shift to expressions of confusion.

A set of quick footsteps can be heard, and as they round the corner, the two males come face to face with a nervous wreck, aka, KOYAMA.

KOYAMA
(Wheezing)
S-Sakusa-San!

SAKUSA
(Worried)
Breathe, what's wrong?
Did something happen?
Why were you running?

KOYAMA
(Slowly glances at
Komori, and then blushes
bright red).
I-, o-oh, Komori-San?

KOMORI
(Awkward)
Heeeeeyyy.

KOYAMA
(Embarrassed)
I'll just talk
to you tomorrow
Sakusa—San. I-I'll
be going now! Uh,
goodnight!

KOYAMA
(Furrows her eyebrows).
wow, I really do need
to sleep. (Laughs).

KOMORI
(Realization)
OH, Sakusa, I forgot
I had to help Hayami
with her chemistry
homework. You know how
my little sis gets if
I don't keep my word!

SAKUSA
(Glares).
Komori.

KOMORI
(Quickly putting on
his shoes).
I'LL SEE YOU TWO
TOMORROW!~ HAVE A NICE
CHAT YOU TWO!~ BYE BYE~

A tense silence engulfs KOYAMA and SAKUSA after KOMORI walks out of the apartment.

KOYAMA sighed with a bit of guilt building up in her chest. The brunette mustered up the last of courage left in her heart, and finally looked SAKUSA in the eyes.

SAKUSA's dark brown eyes, drank her in, and KOYAMA swallowed the lump in her throat. The brunette didn't know why, but his gaze made her insides burn, as if she were taking a quick sip of rum and forgetting to exhale.

SAKUSA on the other hand, felt like his digestive system would betray him at any moment due to the sinking feeling in his stomach that comes and goes in waves when you're nervous. He knew that the only person who could provoke that sensation was her, and that alone made him self-conscious, more than he would've liked to admit to himself.

SAKUSA
(apprehensively)
So, what's
going on?

KOYAMA
I think... we
need to talk.

KOYAMA
Honestly, Sakusa-San,
I feel that we have
been irritating each other.

SAKUSA
(Surprised)
You noticed.

KOYAMA
(Rubbing her arm
with her right hand).
It's hard not
to when you're
a little passive
aggressive with me.

SAKUSA
(Groans).
I just can't stand the
untidy habits you have.

KOYAMA
(Irritated)
Well, I can't stand you
acting like my mother. I
hate being told what to do.

SAKUSA
We have a cleaning schedule
Koyama-San. You can't just
break it whenever you feel
like it. We're adults, we can't
slack off one day since we don't
have anyone else to do things
for us.

KOYAMA
I know that, I do,
(tears up) but it's
hard for me to do
simple things Sakusa-San.

SAKUSA
(Incredulous)
And why's that?
Cleaning's not that
hard to do.
You don't even have
to do all of the chores,
you only do half of them,
and we switch each week.

KOYAMA
Sakusa-San...

KOYAMA
(Thick with nervousness)
I... (pause)

KOYAMA
(Shakes her head)
Never mind!
(small smile)
Goodnight Sakusa-San.

SAKUSA
(Eyes widen)
Wait, Koyama-San!

KOYAMA speed walked to her bedroom, and locked her door. SAKUSA stood dumbfounded as the click of the lock rang throughout the silence in the apartment.

SAKUSA truly wondered, is my roommate really just annoying or is there something lying beyond the laziness I've pinpointed as the problem?
