INT. SAKUSA — KOYAMA APARTMENT — EARLY AFTERNOON

SAKUSA pulls out a laundry basket and hands it to KOYAMA.

SAKUSA
That'll help with
keeping everything
in one place instead
of leaving it in piles
on the chair or bags.

KOYAMA
(Sheepish)
Thanks
Sakusa-San.

SAKUSA
No problem.

SAKUSA
Anyways, I wanted to know,
how big of a part did your
mom play in all of these
problems you have now?

KOYAMA
It's sounds so bad
when you say it like
that.

SAKUSA
I couldn't really
put it any other way.

KOYAMA
You know, I always tried
to please mom by cleaning.
Yet, it was never enough to
gain her favor or at least
a few words of gratitude.

KOYAMA
During high school, a lot
of my friends dropped me,
and I guess you could say
that I soon ended up with
depression.

KOYAMA
I stayed in my room all day,
wallowing in my loneliness.

KOYAMA
The friendships I had left,
soon fell apart, due to my own
trust issues, and the lack of
emotion that I presented.

KOYAMA
And the bane of my existence
became keeping up with my chores.

KOYAMA
Not to mention her
constantly comparing
me to my older sisters
and my brother as well.

SAKUSA
Do you want me to be
honest with you?

KOYAMA
(Defeated)
Man, just drop the
bomb on me already.

SAKUSA
Instead of wallowing in
self-pity, regrets, and
the past, you should be
focusing on the present.
I can't say that I
understand what you're
going through, but I can
help you have a better
relationship with these
struggles you have.

KOYAMA
Wow.

SAKUSA
You had a right to be
off-put by things that
are "normally" done by
others with ease, but that
doesn't mean you have to
stay like this if you
don't feel comfortable with
this aspect of your life.

SAKUSA
What if you actually end
up enjoying cleaning more
than you think you do?

SAKUSA
Take today for example,
you started off sweeping the
kitchen, doing the dishes, and
then proceeded to clean
and organize your room.

KOYAMA
Yeah, but that's as
much as you get today.
I'm kinda losing motivation
to start doing the laundry.

SAKUSA
(Pulls down his mask
only to show off his
scowl).
You can't lose to your
brain Koyama-San.

KOYAMA
but my heart's the one
saying:
"go lay down and watch
something on Netflix."

SAKUSA
Sometimes, you manage
to get on my nerves.

SAKUSA
I'm this close to
losing my mind.

KOYAMA
Heh.

SAKUSA
(Slightly annoyed)
Get to doing the
laundry, I've got a
bathroom to clean.

KOYAMA
I—

KOYAMA
Yeah.

KOYAMA
Okay, I'll
do that.

INT. HALF CAFE — HALF COIN LAUNDRY — EARLY AFTERNOON
