EXT. RIKUGI-EN GARDEN — EARLY AFTERNOON

SAKUSA listened intently as KOYAMA recounted one of her high school anecdotes.

KOYAMA
During high school
I didn't take shit
form anybody you know?

KOYAMA
So, let me lay it
out for you.

KOYAMA extended her hands in front of SAKUSA, and the raven raised an eyebrow. Now that he had spent at least an hour with KOYAMA, with no other distractions involved, she had started to grow more and more comfortable with making conversation, and the best part was that she didn't mind his short responses at all.

KOYAMA knew, that despite his lack of verbal expression, he was listening, and nodding his head to reassure her.

KOYAMA
This girl in my class,
let's call her "daisy",
had a huge crush on
Shirabu-Kun.

SAKUSA
Shiratorizawa's
former setter, right?

KOYAMA
(Excited)
Yes! Him!
The one with the
shitty bangs!

SAKUSA
(Snickers).

KOYAMA
(Laughs).
Yeah, so, the thing is,
Shirabu-Kun had no idea
that daisy even existed.
daisy was just a fan girl,
but she was quite delulu.

SAKUSA tilted his head, curious to hear where this was going.

KOYAMA
Because I was close
to the boys, I guess
news got a round that
I hung out with Shirabu-Kun
and Tsu-Kun after school.

KOYAMA
So, one day, daisy
approaches me. And
mind this, the teacher
had walked out because
she needed a few copies
for an assignments we
were doing.

KOYAMA
So, daisy's all like
"I know what you're
doing." And I was like
"No, no I don't?"
And she says:
"You're stealing my boy-
friend! Kenji-kun is mine."

KOYAMA
(Laughs).
LET ME TELL YOU!
I was confused,
I was disgusted,
I was petrified!

KOYAMA
And I said: "Kenji-Kun?
you mean, my brother?"

KOYAMA
Yeah, uh, because of
that, she got angry
and then yanked my
hair, and she was all
like: "you're lying you
bitch! You're not related
at all! You guys look
nothing alike!"

KOYAMA
It got awkward when
someone intervened and
then cleared the whole
misunderstanding for the
both of us.

KOYAMA
(Embarrassed)
As pay back for the hair
pulling though, I spilled
orange Fanta on her head, and
then the teacher walked in
and we were sent to the
principles office.

SAKUSA
(Teasing)
You should've let
bygones be bygones.

KOYAMA
(Shakes her head).
Never in a million
years was I gonna
sit back and let
her get away with
embarrassing
me like that.

SAKUSA
(Raises an eyebrow).
Are you a revengeful
person?

KOYAMA
(Narrows her eyes).
Mmm, no, not really.
But that day, I did feel
that way, because she decided
to argue with me without
evidence for her claims.
She played me out to be the
bad guy, and I took that
personally, I guess.

SAKUSA
You don't like being
misunderstood, right?

KOYAMA
Yup. I hate
not being able to
explain myself.

KOYAMA
(Curious)
What would you have done
in that situation?

SAKUSA
(low hum).
I would've told
her that she was
delusional.

KOYAMA
(Gasps).
So blunt!

KOYAMA
(Laughs).
It's funny to imagine
what her expression
would've been like if the
conversation had played out
like that instead.

KOYAMA
Something like...

KOYAMA pulled her best angry face, by jutting out her bottom lip and furrowing her eyebrows, and to give it more character, she tilted her head downwards so that her eyes looked menacing as she glanced upwards.

KOYAMA
BWHAHAHHAHA

SAKUSA shook his head at the girl's antics. Nonetheless, he was gruntled, because her goofing off could only mean one thing, he had succeeded in taking her mind off of her worries.

KOYAMA suddenly stopped laughing, and she looked up at SAKUSA with wide eyes.

SAKUSA
What?

KOYAMA
(Blushing).
I just remembered
something.

SAKUSA
(Raises both
eyebrows).

KOYAMA
I remembered the first
time we crossed paths.

KOYAMA
I was looking for UshiUshi,
when suddenly he walked out
of the bathroom, and you walked
out as well like a minute later.

SAKUSA
(Realization)
Oh, that was during
a tournament in junior
high.

SAKUSA
I honestly don't remember
seeing you there since I
was focused on Wakatoshi-Kun.

KOYAMA
(Joy = murdered).
I see how it is.

SAKUSA
Pfft, are you
okay?

KOYAMA
(Loud)
