INT. KOYAMA'S BEDROOM — LATE AFTERNOON

KOYAMA sat at the foot of her bed, and YACHI stood in front of her, slightly leaning forward as she gently wiped down KOYAMA's makeup.

YACHI
Your make up
looked so pretty,
did you do it
yourself?

KOYAMA
No, um, actually
it was done by a
make up team.

YACHI
(Pauses).
What?!

KOYAMA
(Opens her eyes
slowly).
Well, it's a
long story.

YACHI
(raises an eyebrow
and places a hand
on her hip sassily).
I've got time.

KOYAMA
Everyone's waiting
for us, so, I don't
think so.

YACHI
(Deflated)
Alright, you're
off the hook.
For now.

KOYAMA
(Relieved)
Thanks.

YACHI
(Worried)
So, I don't mean to
pry, but, why did
you cry?

KOYAMA
I've never gotten
a surprise birthday
party before.

YACHI
Really?

KOYAMA
(Frowns).
All of my siblings
did, at some point,
but Kenji and I had
to assimilate with the
fact that we'd never
get one.

KOYAMA
(Choked up).
I wish he was here
to experience this
happiness as well.

YACHI
(Choked up).
T-Tsuru-Chan,
you're amazing,
you know that
right?

YACHI took a hold of KOYAMA's shoulders, as she feared falling over due to a sudden wave of nausea. These overwhelming feelings, YACHI knew, were empathetic. The blonde wasted no time, and wrapped her arms around KOYAMA's neck.

The brunette welcomed her best friend's warmth. KOYAMA could feel YACHI's rapid heartbeat, and the brunette lay her cheek on top of YACHI's head.

YACHI hiccuped a small sob, and KOYAMA rubbed small circles on her back with her thumbs.

KOYAMA
There there,
I'm fine
Hitoka-Chan.

YACHI
(Sobbing).
I'm supposed to
comfort you! Not
the other way around!

KOYAMA
This is good
enough for me
Hitoka-Chan.

YACHI
(Sniffing).
You're an
angel! I don't
know why anyone
would deprive you
of simple joys like
surprise parties!

YACHI
(Pulls away from
the hug).

YACHI
(Angry)
Tell me who I
have to b-beat up,
and I'll do it!

YACHI
(Nervous)
Unless they're too big,
I uh, or gang affiliated,
I can't do anything!
I mean, look at my
flimsy hands!

KOYAMA
(Laughs).
Thanks for cheering
me up Hitoka-Chan.
You always know what
to say at moments like
these.

YACHI
(Flustered)
O-oh, really?

YACHI
(giggles).
I guess I
do huh?

KOYAMA
Should we go
out now?

YACHI
OH, wait, we're not
completely done with
taking off your makeup.

KOYAMA
(Dumbfounded)
True.

The girls examined each other's puffy faces, and red eyes, and they were soon over taken by a wave of incessant cackles.

CUT TO:

INT. LIVING ROOM — LATE AFTERNOON

The boys sat in silence, with a collection of confused faces all around, as the sound of laughter emanated from KOYAMA's bedroom.

YAMAGUCHI
(Chuckles).
It's nice to
hear that they're
not upset anymore.

BOKUTO
(grumpy)
I want to know
what's so funny.

AKAASHI
I don't advise
you barging in.

BOKUTO
(gloomy)
I know.

HINATA
(Pats Bokuto's
back).

BOKUTO
Thanks Chibi-Chan.

HINATA
No problem.

HINATA
Anyway, does anyone
know why Koyama-San
started crying?

KENMA
The surprise party
was Kuro's idea.

YAMAGUCHI
What's that got to
do with all of this?

KENMA
He said she'd never
gotten a surprise
party before so
he suggested it.
I'm assuming she
got emotional about
it, so, we don't
have to worry.

KOMORI
(Surprised)
That's a lot
to take in,
coming from you
that is.

KENMA
(Deadpans).

SAKUSA
How did Kuroo
know that?

TSUKISHIMA
Ah, didn't you know?

SAKUSA
(Cautious)
Know what?

TSUKISHIMA
(Glances at
Kenma).
Maybe I shouldn't be
the one to say anything.

KENMA
It's not like I
don't already know.

TSUKISHIMA
Kuroo Senpai and
Koyama-San dated
in high school.

SAKUSA really did hate not knowing anything about KOYAMA.
