INT. LOCAL SEVEN-ELEVEN — EVENING

KOYAMA ventures into the isle of baked goods. Rows upon rows of cookies, with different colors, textures, flavors, and shapes. KOYAMA's mouth waters at the sight of soft baked matcha flavored cookies.

KOYAMA sticks her hands into the front pockets of her jeans, and her heart drops, as she realizes, she doesn't have any money left.

FLASHBACK

INT. IIZUNA'S APARTMENT - TWO DAYS AGO

CHO and KOYAMA sat together, on the living room couch, with blank expressions on their faces.

K. CHO
Let's buy it.

KOYAMA
Let's buy it.

KOYAMA taps the order option at the bottom of her phone screen. The sisters smile at each other, and nod.

FADE TO:

INT. ISLE OF BAKED GOODS - AFTERNOON

KOYAMA
(Whispers)
Ah, the things one
does for the first
nephew or niece.

KOYAMA
(Whispers)
I better be the
favorite aunt.

K. CHO
(Taps Koyama's shoulder).
Stop drooling and take
the cookies already.

KOYAMA
Oh- I could
never—

K. CHO
(Deadpans).

KOYAMA
(Slowly reaches her
hand out and grabs
the cookies).

K. CHO
And, you know
you'll be the favorite
aunt for sure. I haven't
talked to Kaori and Ayama
since...I left Miyagi.

KOYAMA
Eh, who cares about
those two. They've got
sticks up their butts
cause you're not having
a wedlock baby.

KOYAMA
Pfft, and the fact
that Iizuna-San's
still with you pissed
them off even more.

KOYAMA
One's divorced
and lost custody
over her kids.
The other's just
a prick cause she
wanted Iizuna-San
for herself.

K. CHO
(Astonished).
You're terrifying
when you're angry.

KOYAMA
Am I?

K. CHO
Yep.

KOYAMA
(Takes a deep breath).
On a lighter note, I
applied for a shift at
Seven-Eleven, in Bunkyo.

K. CHO
When?

KOYAMA
Since Sakusa-San's
visit.

KOYAMA
I didn't want to say I'd be
moving until I was sure that
I'd gotten the job. Of course,
the shift won't be enough to
cover some expenses, so while
I'm there I'll look for
another part time.

K. CHO
(Sad)
I'm going to
miss having
you around.

KOYAMA and CHO walk out of the baked goods isle and line up to pay their items.

KOYAMA
Me too, but you'll
be better off without
me around.

K. CHO
(Silence).

EXT. SHIBUYA CITY STREETS — EVENING

The Seven-Eleven sits on the corner of the street, thus it's design is particularly fitting. On the other side of the street, there's houses with beautiful gardens. A group of teens walk by, full of laughter, as they chat amongst themselves.

Rounding the corner, the sisters walk back to IIZUNA's apartment with an awkward tension in the air.

INT. IIZUNA'S APARTMENT — EVENING

The air in the apartment smells of apple and cinnamon. The curtains of the panoramic window are drawn so as to let in sunlight.

INT. GENKAN - EVENING

K. CHO
TSURU YOU DIDN'T
TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF!

INT. IIZUNA'S APARTMENT - EVENING

KOYAMA
(Winces).
I FORGOT!

INT. GENKAN - EVENING

KOYAMA enters the small hallway that leads to the Genkan. Taking off her
sneakers, KOYAMA neatly placed them beside her sister's shoes.

K. CHO
If you do that
while you're living
with Sakusa, he'll eat
you alive.

KOYAMA
(Smirks).
That doesn't sound
half bad.

K. CHO
What?

K. CHO
(Raises an eyebrow).

KOYAMA
How are you
pregnant?!

K. CHO
Well, it all happened
on our first anniversary,
when I—

KOYAMA
No, I don't
want details.
Please, spare
me.

INT. THE KITCHEN - EVENING

CHO picks out an egg carton, a bag of ham and another of sausages, to put in the fridge. KOYAMA on the other hand takes out items for the kitchen cabinets. The L-shaped kitchen was small, but fitting in accordance to the apartment's design.

K. CHO
Have you told
Sakusa yet?

KOYAMA
(Flinches).
I will!
