INT. KITCHEN — LATE AFTERNOON

KOYAMA put out her plate in front of her, and SAKUSA gave her no reaction.

KOYAMA noticed that SAKUSA's expression oozed with irritation, and although she couldn't say for sure what was on his mind, she oddly felt targeted by his sudden change in demeanor.

KOYAMA
(Shy)
Pie?

SAKUSA
There's a
piece left.

KOYAMA
So, uh, can
I have it?

SAKUSA
Go ahead.

SAKUSA walked out of the kitchen, leaving behind a distressed brunette. KOYAMA grew furious with SAKUSA.

KOYAMA
(Whispers)
I wanted you
to hand me the piece.
How come you serve
everybody else, except,
the birthday girl?

KOYAMA
Tch.

KOYAMA
Idiot.

SAKUSA
(Annoyed)
I heard that.

KOYAMA
(Shrieks in
surprise).

KOYAMA
SAKUSA! WHAT THE—
DIDN'T YOU JUST WALK
OUT A SECOND AGO?!

SAKUSA
There's something
called "pretending".
Ever heard of it?

KOYAMA
(Blushes).
Sorry.

What KOYAMA didn't know is that she had no reason to apologize. In reality, SAKUSA had been irritated, and her gut feelings were accurate. SAKUSA had taken out his inner turmoil on her, and as soon as he walked out of the kitchen, guilt consumed him.

SAKUSA actually felt glad that the brunette cursed him out. He deserved it for being, as she had mentioned, an idiot.

To be more accurate, a jealous idiot. Although, SAKUSA wasn't consciously ready to acknowledge this matter.

SAKUSA
Were you really
that angry at me
for not serving you
a piece of pie?

KOYAMA
(Hesitant)
Not really.
I just felt
like you were
angry at me.

SAKUSA
(Sighs).
Sorry about that,
it's got nothing to
do with you, and everything
to do with me. Don't worry
about it.

KOYAMA
(Worried)
Are you tired?

SAKUSA
(Interested)
Why do you ask?

KOYAMA
(Teasing)
It's past your bed
time. You know, you're
a real scary grump if
you don't sleep early.
