A/N: I have always wanted to write a story about what happens if Bondita never left for London alone? How would Anirudh grow to accept Bondita as his wife through the years? How would their relationship develop in these circumstances?

This is this story.

This story starts in the part of the show just after Bondita gets her first period. Everything from before this, follows the events of the show.

--

"It's time," Trilochan Babu was announcing to Binoy. "It's time for Anirudh's parivarik jeevan to start. It's time for him to accept Bondita as his wife in the true sense. She has attained menarche."

Anirudh Roy Choudhary, who was holding his wife Bondita's small hand in his own stopped in his tracks when he heard this. He had just brought Bondita home from school, and this was the conversation that they had walked in on.

"We will hold the full rituals before their suhagraat tomorrow," Trilochan Babu said decisively, and Anirudh felt a deep disgust form at the pit of his stomach upon hearing this.

"Go to your room," Anirudh told Bondita, who was only twelve.

Bondita, who had a confused expression on her face only nodded and went towards her bedroom. All the while, Anirudh took a deep breath, and yelled, "Kaka, she is a KID!"

Trilochan Roy Choudhary looked up at Anirudh, while Binoy adjusted his glasses and took a step back.

"Anirudh!" Trilochan said, "She's a woman now, and you are her husband. You cannot deny her of this right!"

Anirudh Roy Choudhary felt his head spin. He felt like his whole morals and ethics, his whole personality, and his whole life's motives were being snatched from him.

"No... she is my zimmedari! Just my responsibility! She's not my wife!" Anirudh screamed, grabbing the wall for support. "She can n - never be my wife!"

Anirudh felt sweat form on his brow. It was almost like he was convincing himself now.

"Anirudh, I have seen how you make each other happy. I have seen how fulfilled you feel around her. She is not only your responsibility beta," Kaka explained.

Anirudh shook his head, feeling his breathing get heavier out of anxiety.

"No it's false. It's all false!" he screamed.

Then he stormed out of there.

Anirudh Roy Choudhary knew that Bondita was becoming someone who he couldn't live without. He knew that fulfilling their dreams and making her a barrister had become the purpose of his life. He knew that he had gotten very close to her, and grown to care for her in the last year of their marriage.

But wife

She was a child! He couldn't ever look at her like this. Not now, not ever

"Anirudh, whether you see it or not. The truth is that Bondita has become your heartbeat. She has become the breaths you take. She has become every part of you that will connect you to yourself. The sooner you realize this the better beta, because I fear once you realize it, it might be too late," Kaka said to himself sadly as he watched Anirudh storm off.

Then he looked up at Binoy and added, "Time to start the arrangements for our son's parivarik jeevan! His family life ahead should start with a bang!"

A/N: Fair warning that this is set in the 1920s, so everything will be realistic according to that period. There were no laws about what is considered a minor. Nobody knew the concept of 'adult' being associated with the age 18. It was determined through other factors like physical maturation which differed person by person. Even Kaka and Ani have different views of this matter, as in this era it was heavily debated.

This story will be done REALISTICALLY in terms of that era and not IDEALISTICALLY, so please keep this in mind, if you plan to follow this story. Formal age will not be a hindrance between anything, but rather it will be determined with physical/mental maturity as the years go by.

I'm very excited about this one! I hope you guys enjoy it too. ❤️
