Bondita took the romance novel to school that day and continued to read it during breaks and lunch, hiding it behind a textbook so nobody would know what she was reading.
Batuk and Vikram were well aware of what Bondita was reading though, and both of them just watched with awe, as Bondita flipped the pages, completely transfixed.
"If Dada finds out, I am really dead," Batuk groaned, and Vikram just patted his back reassuringly.
Finally, by the end of the school day, Bondita had finished reading the book. There were tears in her eyes, as she was walking out of the school premises with Batuk and Vikram.
"It was so beautiful," Bondita was sobbing to the two boys. "But they didn't get to be together in the end. They were separated, and she married that rich man, and the one she loved was beaten and nowhere to be found!"
Batuk nodded sadly.
"Why is she crying over fictional characters?" Vikram asked, "They're not even real!"
"Yeah..." Batuk mumbled, and looked down with a slight blush, trying to hide the fact that he too had cried when he finished that book.
"You don't understand!" Bondita sobbed, "Just because they're fictional, doesn't mean they're not real! And just because you're here, doesn't mean you're really real!"
Vikram and Batuk looked at her like she had lost it, and Bondita just continued to sniffle.
"Anyways, I have to go, I'll see you at home," she just told Batuk, causing him to look at her with concern.
"Why --" Batuk hadn't even finished his sentence when Bondita ran off.
He just turned to Vikram and said, "Boudi has lost it."
"Seems like it," Vikram said with a loud sigh. "School holidays are starting soon too, so good luck Batuk."
"Thank you Vikram, I will need it to deal with her," Batuk said, rolling his eyes. "She is probably already eating my Dada's head!"
Vikram laughed and said, "I'm sure your Dada won't mind that."
"Yeah, he only minds it when I eat his head," Batuk agreed with another groan.
Bondita entered the English store with full confidence, the excitement of planning her seduction outweighing the pain from the fate of the fictional characters in the book she had finished reading. She headed straight to the romance novels. As she was heading there, she passed by some magazines, and one of them caught her eye.
On the front cover, was the image of a woman with not much clothing on. She picked up the magazine and flipped it open, noticing that many of the women in here had much of their body exposed -- some of them looked to be posing in just a bra and panties, and some were modelling some lingerie type of outfits.
An excited glint in her eyes, she recalled a scene from the book she had just read. In that scene, the girl had been in some kind of lingerie, and the man couldn't keep his hands or lips off her. Maybe if she wore something like this, then her Pati Babu would at least let her kiss his lips!
She went to the counter and looked down shyly for a moment because the cashier was a British man, but then she recalled her Pati Babu's words about how there was nothing to feel embarrassed about!
