When Anirudh had run away from Bondita, he had run to a quiet alley. He had fallen against a wall, and tried very hard to collect his thoughts, but no matter which way he tried to look at it, it had kept on hitting him that one day he would lose her.
Even if she stayed in his life as his friend, it wasn't good enough for Anirudh. Their relationship was so much deeper than what people called friendship these days. They shared so many bonds, so many feelings with each other. Their relationship was one of a kind.
How could anyone Bondita married in the future not be threatened by Anirudh's presence in her life? And Anirudh? How could he let her go? How could he stay away from her, not knowing if she was happy?
How could he go on without seeing her smile? That beautiful smile of hers that could shake up his heart in every way.
Anirudh didn't know how he would live anymore without her. She had become the reason he went on, she had become his breaths, she was present in every thought of his. Even if he somehow survived, he wouldn't be living. He would be a corpse without her, a corpse without life.
She was his other half. His everything.
And how could she not be? Their relationship itself was so deep. It was deeper than any societal relationship. He had never seen a relationship like theirs. He was so lucky to have this in his life. Nobody got this type of bond even after millions of prayers and wishes. Yet, he did. He got a miracle like Bondita in his life.
A miracle who made his life purposeful and filled his life with colors.
Without her, he would be an empty shell.
"Bondita," he cried, as he rested against the wall of the alleyway. "Bondita... Bondita..."
He kept on chanting her name like a crazy devotee, even when the sun set, and the stars appeared in the sky. He kept chanting her name, even when the cold hit and his teeth chattered. He kept on chanting her name, even through his hunger, because no amount of hunger he felt was greater than the hunger he had for her.
Her name was embedded in his mind on loop, as he got up from the cold alleyway, and returned home.
He chanted her name so much that he could feel Bondita trickling through his veins. He could feel her presence in his heartbeats and breaths in real-time.
Until, she physically appeared in front of him and called for him. He looked away from her, focusing on her name in his mind, in his thoughts, in his heart.
The physical one could leave him one day, but the Bondita inside him would always be with him. He would never ever let her go.
He noticed her and went straight upstairs, avoiding her because he was afraid. He was afraid he wouldn't be able to control himself. Anirudh Roy Choudhary was scared that if he fell weak, he would beg her to not leave him, and cage her to him.
He couldn't ever bind her. He couldn't ever cage her.
Never in this lifetime, nor any other.
Whenever Bondita came to this Earth, Anirudh would come too, as the manifestation of her freedom, as the source of her expression, her creativity and willpower.
His bond with hers was beautiful, and he knew that even if they separated, he would live his life in her name and memories, happily finding his union with her within himself. Nothing could tarnish their bond for him, not even if she left him and went. For Anirudh, she would always be his Bondita, no matter what.
