I'm overwhelmed by your love on the last part. I think it got the record number of stars in this whole story (470 stars -- so close to 500!!!). Your support always leaves me speechless. I love you guys so much. 🌸

As he held on to her, Anirudh rested his head on her shoulder. Because she was on his lap, her height was slightly taller. Bondita could feel his shaken breaths against her neck, and she felt goosebumps erupt all over her body.

She held on to him even more tightly, one of her hands stroking his hair, as he hugged her preciously. He could smell her natural scent. He buried his face against her, nuzzling her neck as he did so. Bondita clutched his hair, the pace of her heart increasing.

She could feel his warm breath and tears against her neck, and new tears formed in her eyes, as she caressed his hair lovingly.

Seeing her Pati Babu like this was breaking her, but having him hold her like she was the most precious thing to him, made her heart settle finally. She was feeling a warmth, knowing that he didn't need to be insecure anymore. She was his Bondita, and always would be his.

Bondita told him she would choose him over and over again. It was hitting him slowly, as he hugged her. He didn't know whether to smile or cry. Anirudh didn't know whether he could shed his inhibitions and just accept this, or ask her further questions.

He didn't know what to do, so he just hugged her tightly, inhaling the scent of her and feeling at peace in her arms.

After some time, Bondita broke the embrace and wiped his tears. Most of them had dried up now. He only looked at her with a hopeful expression.

A small smile appeared on her lips as she cupped his face in her hands.

"Shotti?" he finally asked her, breaking their silence.

Bondita couldn't help but giggle.

She leaned towards him and kissed his forehead, making Anirudh's heart jump.

"Shotti," she whispered breathlessly, making him smile.

He felt so happy right now, but there was still a nagging doubt in the back of his mind.

Then she kissed his cheeks one by one, wanting to kiss all his pain away. All the tears that slid down his cheeks had no right to be there anymore, because she said so, and she had full rights over him now. She wanted to fill his entire life with the colours of love and happiness from now on.

Anirudh closed his eyes, feeling her kisses and the love emanating from them. No matter how much his mind could try and convince him otherwise, Bondita's actions contained all the love in the world. He had a hard time doubting this, with the way she lovingly held him and kissed him.

He opened his eyes for a moment, and saw her leaning towards him, closer and closer, her lips only a few inches away from his.

Anirudh almost let it happen.

He almost let her do it. He almost let Bondita kiss him.

Maybe it was his protective instincts, but at the last moment, he turned his face, causing her lips to land on the corner of his mouth, just where the corner of his lips met his cheek, instead.

Bondita felt slightly embarrassed, and she looked away from him. Was it wrong to want to kiss him on the lips? Why did he turn his face?

Maybe it was a weird thing to do.

Anirudh turned to look at her and said, trying to change the topic, "B - Bondita, you didn't eat, did you?"

She shook her head.
