141 - Dammit Bondita, It's Because I Love You!

Note: This is the second chapter I've posted today. Please read the last one first. 

"It's not what you're thinking Tupur!" Bondita said quickly, as she stood up and tried to straighten her saree. 

Tupur glanced at Roopa, who also stood up and flattened her own saree. 

"Thakumaa has been telling us to make sure you don't misbehave with Roopa, and it seems like she was right!" Tupur huffed, "Just to see your Pati Babu, you're doing all of this right?" 

Tupur's imagination was not so advanced to understand the sexual nature of what could possibly be going on. 

Bondita blushed. She knew that Thakumaa suspected she would deceive Roopa somehow and go and meet Pati Babu, but what Thakumaa didn't realize was that the deceit was happening right under her nose. 

"Tupur Malikin, it's nothing like that," Anirudh said in Roopa's voice. 

"Please, I saw with my own eyes! Bondita was probably strangling you!" Tupur said. "I'm going to tell Thakumaa about this!" 

"Strangling?" Bondita gasped, as Anirudh blushed -- well, she had been making him breathless in other ways. 

Tupur was about to head back through the door when Bondita ran upto her and took hold of her arm. 

"Tupur, don't say anything to Thakumaa please. I promise, nothing like that happened. Roopa was washing clothes, and I just fell over the water and it poured on me. That's all!" 

Tupur looked at Bondita suspiciously and was about to pull her hand off and leave when the parallel rooftop balcony got a new member. 

Batuk Roy Choudhary. 

They were living in the same haveli, so it was no surprise that they shared a roof too. There was just a slight gap between them, maybe only of two metres -- the gap was big enough so they couldn't get to each other's sides, but close enough that they could communicate. 

"Boudi!" Batuk yelled, rushing over to her, noticing her wet saree. "Is everything okay?" 

Bondita breathed a sigh of relief to see Batuk. She didn't get to meet him at all yesterday and she had missed him. 

"Batuk, how are you?" she asked. 

Batuk noticed Tupur there. Tupur blushed and looked down, unable to meet his gaze. Batuk also turned red in the face. 

Roopa pulled her pallu over her face, trying to hide her face from Batuk. 

"I - I'm good Boudi," he stammered, and Bondita wondered why he sounded so nervous all of a sudden. 

"I... can't talk to you," Bondita told him sadly, and glanced at Tupur, knowing that she would tell Thakumaa if she caught her talking to Batuk. 

Tupur forced a smile and went back to Bondita, holding her arm gently and saying, "It's okay Bondita. I won't tell." 

Bondita looked at Tupur, surprised. What happened to her all of a sudden?

Batuk blushed and asked, "Is that... your sister?" 

"Yes, she's Tupur," Bondita said with a smile. "Tupur, this is Batuk." 

Tupur looked down shyly as Batuk just smiled at her, blushing himself. All this time. Anirudh as Roopa was trying to turn his back to Batuk and cover himself. 

"I... have to go," Tupur said, and she ran out from there. 

When she left, Batuk said, "Boudi, she's so pretty!"
