"Pati Babu, go from here," Bondita insisted, as Thakumaa held her arm, about to throw her into the menstruation shack. "I can handle it!"

She didn't agree with the tradition, but she was worried about that gun in her Thakumaa's other hand.

"Bondita, whether you can handle it or not, it's wrong!" Anirudh screamed, "How can any lady be locked in a shack like this?"

"It's our tradition, Anirudh Roy Choudhary," Thakumaa hissed. "We've been doing it for a long time!"

It was at this time that Trilochan appeared as well, and Thakumaa rolled her eyes.

"Great, the whole family is here," Thakumaa hissed, as Batuk appeared, Tupur not far behind him.

They had just been talking about stopping her marriage with Chandrachur, and Tupur wondered why Batuk left such an important conversation just because Bondita was going into a menstruation shack. She didn't understand what the big deal was! She herself went in there every month!

"Kalindi, what are you doing with our Bahu?" Kaka demanded.

"She's menstruating!" Thakumaa announced.

"But still, a shack?" Trilochan asked. "Keep her in a room with proper ventilation if you wish, but don't put her in this shack! This is very bad!"

Batuk looked at his Boudi. Oh, she was on her period. He remembered the time when she had gotten her period and was extremely short-tempered with him. He took a few steps back from her. If she lost her temper again, he doubted even Thakumaa would be spared from his Boudi's wrath!

"Trilochan, even I have to stay in this shack when I am menstruating!" Kalindi hissed.

Kaka gasped, "Shiv Shiv Shiv... look at her age and the things she speaks about."

Thakumaa rolled her eyes and said, "Bondita's not my enemy! Menstruation is a curse, and therefore she has to be kept here during this time. She was born as a woman, so she must endure."

Anirudh furrowed his eyebrows angrily.

"Thakumaa, my Pati Babu taught me that menstruation isn't a curse, but it is a blessing! It is what allows us to have children. If we don't menstruate, there would be no creation," Bondita explained, while Anirudh looked at her proudly. "In fact, we are all made up of menstrual blood! That's what runs through our veins!"

"Yes Kalindi, she's right," Kaka insisted, "Please don't keep my Bahu in this place."

"Your Bahu?" Thakumaa laughed, "You and your nephew have made me enough of a fool already. Not for any longer though. Now things will go the way that Kalindi Das wants."

Trilochan sighed heavily as he eyed the rifle in Thakumaa's hands.

"Your problem is with me, right? Keep Bahu and Anirudh out of it. Let Bahu stay with us for these five days. We will take care of her," Trilochan insisted.

"I can take care of my granddaughter, and if I don't break her ties with you Roy Choudharys then my name isn't Kalindi Das," Thakumaa hissed.

Trilochan rolled his eyes. This lady had lost it. How could she separate Bondita from Anirudh? How could she separate Shiva and his Shakti?

"She's my WIFE Thakumaa! You can't do this against my will!" Anirudh yelled, deciding that he would have to play the husband card now. "You can't lock her in here!"
