When Manika arrived at the haveli, Kaka was standing at the entrance, eyeing her, wondering what she was doing here all of a sudden.
As if the rumours hadn't been bad enough already, his Bahu had also created a scene at her birthday celebration, and threatened to hug random men! Now the root cause of the problems had landed right here at the haveli. What more did he have to see in this lifetime?
"Namoshkar Kaka," Manika greeted.
Vikram and Batuk, who heard the driver pulling in, came running down to the entrance to see who it was.
"Oh my God," Vikram gasped, his eyes widening.
"What oh my God?" Batuk asked with a frown.
"It's Bondita's Manika Didi!" Vikram said with excitement.
Batuk rolled his eyes and said, "How many times do I have to tell you? She's married and she's pregnant!"
Vikram sighed heavily and asked, "What does that have to do with anything?"
"You can't like her!"
"But I can be a gentleman instead of just standing here, right?" Vikram argued.
Then before Batuk could respond, Vikram rushed over to the quite pregnant Manika, and smiled at her. Batuk came running right behind him.
"Hello Bondita's Manika Didi!" Vikram greeted.
Now Kaka turned to look at Bikram with a sigh.
"Is this a charity house?" Kaka muttered under his breath.
"What Kaka?" Batuk asked.
"Nothing," Kaka said, and turned around, hitting his cane down on the ground as he stormed away.
"Come with us Bondita's Manika Didi," Vikram offered, "Let me get a chair for you to sit!"
"Thank you," Manika said and smiled at the two boys.
"Dada went out for work. He should come back soon," Batuk grumbled.
He was suspicious of what Dada even did at work now.

"Roopa, doctor?" Thakumaa inquired. "You went to a doctor?"
"Yes, the village doctor!" Roopa said quickly as Anirudh realized his slip-ups, those of poor families didn't really have access to doctors. "She helps give birth to everyone's babies in our village!"
Thakumaa sighed and said, "Those aren't doctors."
"So will you help me Thakumaa?" Roopa asked.
"I normally don't help those from your status," Thakumaa said, "But for you, I'll make an exception. You are very sweet."
Roopa smiled, and said, "Thank you Thakumaa!"
"You can take this medication," Thakumaa said, going towards her storage and grabbing a few of the same bottles that Bondita had grabbed earlier.
As she was eyeing her storage, Thakumaa felt like something was odd. Was it just her imagination, or was a bottle missing? There were many bottles here, but nothing escaped Thakumaa's eye.
"What's the dosage Thakumaa?" Roopa asked.
"One pill everyday, same time," Thakumaa said, handing six bottles to Roopa. "This is one year's supply."
