After school that day, Vikram entered the haveli with both Batuk and Bondita.

"Let's go study," Vikram said to Batuk, while Batuk groaned.

Vikram had compelled Batuk to study with him, after he found out that Batuk had bunked the extra class and rarely studied at home.

"Yes Batuk, go and study," Bondita teased. "Then you can also be number one like your Boudi!"

"We just got back from school. We should rest for some time first," Batuk suggested, ignoring her teasing. "Boudi, can you make some snacks?"

"Fine, I'll make snacks, but you have to study Batuk otherwise what's the use of Vikram being here?" she asked.

"You're turning into Dada, always giving lectures," Batuk said, frowning.

Bondita frowned back and said, "Batuk! I don't give lectures!"

"Yes you do!" Batuk argued.

"Okay, enough!" Vikram said, standing in between them. "Batuk, where should we go? Your room?"

"Let's just stay in the living room for now, until we eat," Batuk said.

Vikram nodded and went to the living room with Batuk. Bondita rolled her eyes, and then went to her room to change her clothes.

As she was changing, she noticed that she had gotten her period.

Whenever she was on her period, she stayed away from the kitchen and the mandir at home. Other than that, she was free to go wherever she wanted and do whatever she wished. Her Pati Babu had made sure that they came up with a compromise with Kaka, and this was what they settled with. Bondita wasn't complaining, because she got to rest a lot these days.

In fact, these few days felt quite therapeutic to her because she didn't have to do so much work.

She quickly got ready and went downstairs. When she went to the living room, she sat down on the sofa. Batuk was sitting on the floor, reading a textbook, looking bored, while Vikram was also reading another textbook beside him.

"Boudi, snacks," Batuk whined.

"I can't," she denied flatly.

"Why?" Batuk asked, frowning.

"I'm not feeling well," Bondita said.

"Are you okay Bondita?" Vikram asked, and looked up at Bondita.

"I'm okay," Bondita replied with a smile.

"Then why can't you make snacks for us? You always make snacks whenever our friends come," Batuk asked. "Is it because I made fun of you?"

"Made fun of me? You can't make fun of me," Bondita scoffed. "There's nothing to make fun of!"

Vikram just laughed.

"You guys are bickering so much," he said.

"She always bickers with me," Batuk said.

"I do not!" Bondita gasped. "He does!"

"Dada always supports her tantrums, that's why she keeps on doing these things," Batuk continued.

Now Bondita stood up, feeling upset and placing her hands on her hips while glaring at Batuk.

How did her Pati Babu support her tantrums? Did Batuk forget that for one whole year her Pati Babu stopped talking to her because of them?

"What's wrong with you Batuk?" she yelled. "Why are you acting so cranky!"
