When Anirudh first opened his eyes that night and saw Bondita's hand resting on his stomach, with her weight on his back, he smiled in his half-asleep state.

He must be in a beautiful dream right now.

He tightened his grip on her hand and rubbed it gently. Then he brought it up to his lips, kissing her palm softly.

Anirudh turned around and saw her sleeping soundly.

She was really like a beautiful dream.

He caressed her hair and leaned closer to her, kissing her forehead gently as she slept. Then he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her to his chest and closing his eyes again, falling asleep once more.

If he couldn't be with her like this in real life, then he would enjoy the moments he got to be with her in his dreams.

It was only a few hours later, in the morning, when he woke up properly, feeling her weight against him for real.

Anirudh's eyes opened with a start and he looked down at her. She was still sleeping peacefully.

What was Bondita doing here?

He had one hand around her back from underneath her, and he brought his other hand up to her cheek, gently stroking it.

"Bondita," he whispered.

Instead of waking up, she pressed herself against him hard, hugging him tightly. Anirudh hugged her back for a moment, his hand getting lost in her hair. Her face was pressed against the top of his chest. She fit perfectly in his arms, like she was meant to be in there.

He closed his eyes, just for a second, enjoying the feeling of having her in his arms. Even if this feeling was temporary, he was happy. If Bondita left him and went, these moments where he got to hold her, would be memories he would cherish for his whole life.

When she woke up, the scent of her Pati Babu invaded her nostrils in the most intimate way. She opened her eyes slowly and smiled, as she inhaled his scent. She loved the way he smelled. He smelled like her home

Once she realized she was lying against his chest, and his hands were caressing her hair lovingly, Bondita just smiled.

She could wake up to this everyday.

"Pati Babu," she whispered, pulling her face back slowly and looking up at him with a smile on her lips.

Anirudh looked down at her face and smiled too.

"Good morning Bondita," he told her softly, making her blush.

The way he wished her good morning and said her name in that soft tone of voice, was making her heart jump. Now even his voice was making her feel things.

He was caressing her cheek lovingly with his fingers.

"When did you come here?" he asked her softly.

Memories of the nightmare flooded her system, and she began to shiver. Bondita sat up on the bed, her body shaking. Anirudh sat up too and wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"What happened Bondita?" he asked her, sounding alarmed.

"I had a bad dream," she informed, tears forming in her eyes. "A dream that something terrible happened to you and you d - die - died."

Anirudh just smiled and gently used his free hand to caress her cheek. She rested her head against his shoulder as tears slipped down her cheeks.

"Nothing happened to me Bondita. It was just a dream," he told her softly. "Don't worry."
