Vikram came bright and early the next morning.

"Vikram, there's a big problem!" Batuk said in a panicked tone as soon as his friend arrived with his luggage.

Bihari came and took all of his luggage to the guest room.

"What problem?" Vikram asked -- he knew his best friend could be over dramatic at times, but this sounded quite serious.

Batuk took Vikram's arm and lead him far away from his Kaka, who was standing at the door and eyeing Bikram with displeasure. He had given into Batuk's demands in a moment of weakness, and now he couldn't even take back his words.

"There are two problems!" Batuk informed, when they were out of Kaka's range of hearing.

"Tell me the first one, then tell me the second," Vikram said, "Did you get in trouble? Did Bondita's Pati Babu find out that you've been showing her romance novels?"

Batuk shook his head -- thank God, Dada didn't find this out yet. He would be dead

"Well, the first problem is that there's this girl, Bondita's cousin, Tupur," Batuk said, eyes wide, "She's so pretty!"

Vikram eyed Batuk, furrowing his eyebrows.

"How's that a problem?" Vikram asked.

"Well, I like her Vikram," Batuk said, making it quite obvious. "I get red as a tomato when I see her and I get nervous! But I keep reminding myself that I'm a zamindar, and there's no reason to get nervous! I think it's love!"

Vikram sighed, wondering how someone could fall in love so fast, but then again Batuk was heavily inspired by his romance novels. He asked, "Does Bondita know about this?"

"As soon as I called her pretty, she said not to think about anything!" Batuk said, huffing. "She will be the enemy of my love!"

Vikram laughed and asked, "So what will you do?"

"I don't know, but now that you're here, you can help me meet her secretly!" he told Vikram, who just shook his head slowly -- of course, as a friend, he had to help him.

"And the second problem?" Vikram asked.

Batuk glanced towards his Dada's room -- it had been locked all night.

"Vikram, I think there's a woman in there," he whispered.

"Bondita?" Vikram asked.

"No! That's the problem!" Batuk said.

Vikram blinked a few times. That was a problem.

"Why would there be another woman in there?" Vikram asked.

"My poor Boudi!" Batuk wailed.

"No way, Bondita's Pati Babu loves her too much," Vikram refused to believe it.

"I was so confident that I have to tell Boudi, but I got so scared to tell her. She's going to be so heartbroken! She trusts Dada way too much!"

"Hmm, don't tell her, she trusts him a lot," Vikram agreed.

"Then?" Batuk asked, "How do we solve this problem?"

"We have to make your Dada realize that Bondita's the only one for him," Vikram said adamantly.

"Why doesn't he realize that by now?" Batuk demanded, furrowing his eyebrows.
